Cindy is a wonderful dog with so much love to give. If you're an experienced dog owner who can provide her with the patience, guidance, and love she needs, Cindy could become your loyal and loving companion
About Me: Cindy is an adorable and sensitive dog with a heart full of love to share. She's the perfect match for experienced dog owners who are ready to help her blossom and embrace her full potential. She's not much of a barker, overall is fairly quiet and she takes treats gently. She is like a marshmallow wrapped in fairy floss wrapped in a cloud. She is as sweet as they come & an absolute angel. She's looking for an owner who has had dogs before, bonus points for people who have owned working breeds before or dogs that are on the shy/timid side.
Ideal Home: Cindy is a versatile young girl. If you have a lively and active household, Cindy is keen. If you have a quiet & calm home, Cindy is down. Even if you're an outdoorsy kind of person/family, Cindy could be the ideal addition to your life. Cindy thrives in a setting that allows her free access to both indoors and outdoors - she would love to be inside with her new family & feel like she is apart & belongs. A medium to large yard with secure fencing is an ideal setup for her.
Family: We know that Cindy lived in a home with children prior to coming in to our care. She is open to meeting kids aged 6 years and up - reason for this is because she lacks confidence. Older kids may be able to recognise this and respect her boudaries.
Furry Friends: Cindy shows a strong desire to make doggy friends but her confidence lets her down. She'd greatly benefit from socialisation & confidence training before attempting to interact with other dogs - this is for Cindy's own well-being. As we cannot test we are unsure if Cindy would be suitable living with cats &/or pocket pets.
Work Hard: Cindy is a quick learner and already knows how to sit. She's eager to learn more commands and would benefit from post-adoption training at home or one-on-one sessions to boost her confidence and social skills. Cindy may not have had much experience walking on a leash, so she will benefit from additional training to help her become comfortable with this new skill. She's well-suited for active individuals or families who can provide her with the physical activity she craves.
We always recommend post-adoption training whether it be at home or with a professional. Training doesn’t have to be a chore – it can be a fun experience for you both, it doesn’t have to take long & is a great way for you to bond with your new pal.
Play Hard: With a medium to high energy level due to her breed, Cindy will benefit from daily exercise and walks lasting from 20 to 60 minutes. She's content with the right balance of exercise and indoor relaxation. While she may not be very interested in toys, she's a sweet and affectionate dog who craves human companionship.
Post-Adoption Life: With all animals it’s important to understand that going into a new environment with new people may not be as seamless as we want it to be. It’s important to know that these animals have unknown histories - most are left in the shelter by their owners. The information we have is from observing the animal’s behaviours & reactions to certain stimuli whilst in our care. Adopted animals can take up to 3 months to properly decompress from post-shelter life & a lot of behaviours & quirks may surface during this time. All that we ask is that their new owners have an open mind & are patient.
Adoption details
Please remember that the pets we have available sometimes come to us with no history, so we do our very best to get to know them while they are here and to match them to your home. Sometimes animals behave differently outside of the shelter environment, so please do keep in touch after adoption so that we can help you settle your new family member in and address any unexpected behaviours.
