Hey lovely people, my name is Shadow! I am an affectionate, confident, regal boy who is looking for his forever family, a place where I can be your best friend and never feel scared or uncertain again.

I was adopted out by another local rescue as a young kitten, and since then I was shuffled from family to family through no fault of my own. 💔 I really am such a lovely boy and these were huge changes to get used to. 🥺 My most recent owners surrendered me to the vet for euthanasia because I was chasing their neighbour's chooks. I was left as an outside cat, and any cat kept outside has natural instincts that are going to take over. We are little lions, after all!

Luckily for me, the vet contacted SCA and they were able to squeeze me into care! My beautiful long coat was so matted that I needed vet sedation to have my entire belly shaved... but gosh, I sure do feel better now! While I was there, the lovely vet gave me a clean bill of health, and now my vaccinations and flea/worm treatments are up to date too. Now I LOVE grooming sessions with my foster mum! 💞

I am a gorgeous, assertive, and playful kitty that happily follows you around the house while you do those boring chores (hence my name, hehe). I'll even join you in the loo! I adore playing with cat toys, especially the ones on the end of a cat wand – they keep me entertained and (trust me), it will be entertaining for you too! I love soaking in the morning sun in my cat tree and then, like a shadow, I will disappear at around midday for my afternoon nap! 😉

When we're ready for sleep, I'll be cuddling up by your side! I will purr and make biscuits and stare at you with love in my eyes. Oh, and when we have visitors over, I'm the type of kitty to confidently approach them to ask for all those extra pats!

I haven't had the opportunity to meet any other kitties or pooches in care, though I should get along well with your existing fur babies if we’re slowly and properly introduced. As for all the rest, I'm litter trained, love my food, and my vet work is now up to date – I've been told I'm a healthy and happy young man!
