About Nile
đ Nile đ
Nile is a sweet, happy guy who isnât fazed by much and who only has eyes for his people.
In the pound environment Nile has always been quite reserved and quiet in his kennel even with all the noise going on around him. He is usually just chilling at the kennel door just watching and waiting.
HOUSEHOLD- Nile would be fine with one human for companion or many. He has so much love to give you and will literally throw himself onto anyone or roll over to get a belly rub, taking any attention he can get.
ON-GOING TRAINING- Nile knows how to sit and seems to have the beginning stages of knowing how to âdropâ.
Nile can have a bit of a pushy side when he wants your attention and will jump up on you or push into you whether you want it or not.
His new family might need to set some boundaries for this.
ON LEAD- Nile doesnât overly pull when he is walking on a lead. He can however stop and jump for attention at times.
PLAY/TOYS- Nile has shown no interest in toys. If he has to chose from interacting with people or playing with a toy he always chooses people.
OTHER DOGS- Nile is far more interested in interacting with people than he is other dogs.
When walking past other dogs Nile couldnât be more unbothered. If they are happy to stay away from him he is completely fine with that.
Face to face with other dogs Nile has shown some inexperience. He seems to be unsure how to interact with dogs when they become too bouncy and playful around him.
He does let dogs know how uncomfortable he is by giving them a little grumble. He is quite respectful in the way he tells other dogs to leave him alone. He doesnât want to start anything with another dog but needs them to know he isnât happy or comfortable with them in his face.
Once Nile has shown his disapproval for the canine getting too close to him he instantly either stands behind his handler or sits at their feet. He has done this every single time he has met another dog.
We do recommend Nile be in an only dog home for now and best not to be off leash at a dog park or beach as he wonât like random dogs approaching him.
CATS/OTHER ANIMALS- Nile hasnât been cat tested but if you have a feline companion please contact us and we will test him for you.
CARE/GROOMING- Nile does require regular brushing, something which he seems unfazed by at the shelter. Nile also doesnât seem bothered by nail clips.
EXERCISE- Being a working breed Nile does need regular exercise and mental stimulation. He needs to stay active.
