About Nori
Hi! I’m Nori and I’m looking for a new family to call my own.
APPLICATION PROCESS APPLIES FOR NORI
PLEASE COMPLETE THE BELOW APPLICATION FORM
https://forms.gle/G13BYoQdc6KNK5wA8
NOTE: You are unable to meet Nori until/unless you have been notified that you are a successful applicant. An adoption cannot be approved unless you are able to come to the shelter to meet Nori in person and bring any dogs you currently have with you.
What I need in my new home:
•Daily walks, trips to the park or beach, playtime in the backyard
•Further training with basic doggie manners
•To be allowed inside with my family
•I am a puppy, so I WILL bite, chew things, toilet inside, bark & cry and be destructive. It is up to you to train these behaviours out of me. Please don’t apply for me if you are not willing to put in the effort to train me to grow up to be a well behaved and social dog.
•A doggie playmate would be great, if not then lots of socialising with other dogs
•I like both friendly male and female dogs
•Secure Fencing (6ft Colorbond or equivalent)
•Lots of toys and mental stimulation
•Lots of love and attention
•Being a social and playful pupper I would love to go to doggy daycare
• I am a clever, young and active doggo - I would be great for dog training, trick training, agility etc.
•Being an active breed I have a lot of energy so an active family is a must!
•Doggy daycare and group socialisation classes would be highly beneficial for me.
•I LOVE water and would love to have my very own clam pool to laze around in.
•I have a high prey drive so I can't go to a home that already has cats, rabbits/guinea pigs or chickens/ducks as I will chase them
•SOCIALISATION is as important as training a puppy. Taking me to lots of different places, meeting lots of people (children, men, woman etc) and meeting lots of dogs and other animals will ensure I grow into a social and well adjusted dog.
•TRAINING TRAINING TRAINING. It's ESSENTIAL I receive training in all aspects of my life so I can be the best dog I can be when I'm older.
•Being a young dog I will adapt & learn easily, how I mature will only be a reflection of you & my upbringing
Things that I don’t want in my new home:
•To be left alone in the backyard without any interaction
•Not to be allowed inside with my family
•Never to go on a walk or rides in the car
•Cats or small animals as I may find them fun to chase
My best features:
•Highly food motivated
•Gentle & placid
•I am VERY scent driven (due to my breed) and would excel at scent driven games & training.
•I LOVE the water and will splash about in my water bowl, play with the hose and swim in the basin/river
Where I need to improve / Training required
•I will require full basic training as I've had no training experience yet
•I am shy at first with new people and in new environments so will require a family who will take their time allowing me to settle in and continue on with my socialization
•I love my food so using them as a positive reward should make my training easier.
•I may show signs of anxiety when I'm left alone in the backyard. Leaving me some enrichment toys/treats may help this.
•I am timid in new situations such as entering a building/home. I MUST have a family who'll allow me inside so I can see it isn't a scary place and to allow my confidence to grow.
•I've only just learnt to walk on the lead since being at the shelter so I'm still a bit erratic but lots of walks will help me learn how to be great on the lead.
•I can sometimes initially be shy and try to avoid things going over my head (lead etc). It doesn't take long for me warm up and my excitable & full of life nature to come out.
•As I have not been allowed inside before I am not housetrained yet
•I am social with other friendly dogs however I can react if they are too full on with me, further socialisation is recommended.
