About Birdie
Birdie is a sweet and beautiful soul. She is an easy-going dog around the home who absolutely loves cuddles and pats. She will climb into your lap for some full body snuggles if you let her. Birdie has been coming out of her shell in her foster home and her goofy personality is starting to shine through. Birdie has a soft and gentle temperament that makes her sensitive in some situations. She can easily startle at times and needs a little time to warm up to new people, particularly men or people with walking sticks/umbrellas. Birdie would benefit from someone with experience building confidence in timid dogs.
Birdie currently lives with two other adult medium to large breed dogs. She absolutely loves other dogs, including smaller ones, and her two pals have helped her to gain confidence and let lose while playing with them. Birdie now loves to run around with the other dogs and have a game of rumbles. She takes a lead from the other dogs so would be best suited to a home with another friendly and stable dog that can show her the ropes and be a playmate for her. She is a relatively low energy dog but does like need daily exercise and playtime.
While in foster care, Birdie has been brushing up on her basic training. She can sit, back up, come and is good off lead. Birdie is toilet trained and has been building up time home alone with the other dogs. Her new owners should be committed to continuing her training, socialisation and exposure to new things in a positive manner so that she can blossom.
We are looking for a dog experienced home for Birdie where she will be a part of the family. She will need a home with another dog and/or where someone is home more often than not as she really loves human companionship. Birdie will need to be allowed inside to be with the family and will need a warm comfy bed inside to sleep on at night. She is good with children, but as she can startle, we will be looking for a quieter adult only home for her. She has not been exposed to cats or other types of pets at this stage. This sweet and loving girl will make a loyal and best friend for her new owner – is that you?
If you would like to make this beautiful girl a part of your family, then please complete a Dog Adoption Enquiry form on the Fetching Dogs website as the first step. Please include plenty of details about your current household members, previous dog experience and the type of lifestyle you can offer Birdie.

Don't see a breed attached to one of our dogs? That's because we don't breed label dogs of unknown genetic history. We can't guess at breeds but that's okay, because we can tell you about the dog's individual personality, character, and behaviour.
