Aurora

Aurora is one of the most beautiful cats we have ever encountered, and we are overjoyed that she is finally ready for her forever home.

Last year, Aurora and her kittens were abandoned by their human family. They blamed her for getting pregnant, even though they kept her outside and did not desex her.

When they found she was pregnant again, she was deemed unworthy of love and was left to fend for herself. Luckily, the Sugar and Spice team was informed of her situation and were able to secure her and her newborn kittens before they fell to further harm.

When Aurora came to us, she was emaciated and riddled with parasites. As a devoted mum, she poured every ounce of her energy into taking care of her kittens, and it left her little body absolutely depleted. Her condition was shocking.

Other than her protruding bones, the thing that stood out most about Arora was her eyes, and the immense sadness that showed in them. Despite all of the neglect she suffered at the hands of humans, she was nothing but an absolute angel, and she did not deserve any of it. You could see the hurt in her eyes, and looking into them was absolutely heart-breaking.

Aurora's kittens were adopted several months ago, but she has remained in our care. The derelict conditions that she was subjected to left her very sick, with recurring digestive issues, and she struggled for a long time to put on any weight.

Slowly but surely though, she got better. Her body filled out, and her health stabilised. Best of all, the dull and listless look in her eyes has now turned to one of brightness, warmth and trust. She knows she is cared for, and will always be cared for. She is finally safe forever. And now it is time to find the the loving home that she so greatly deserves.

Aurora has a gorgeous disposition. She is gentle and loving, and can be a playful little goofball when the moods strikes. She is absolutely wonderful with children, and has gotten along beautifully with every other cat that she has encountered (and she has encountered many, having spent so long in our care). It is also likely that she will get along well with a gentle pup, if given a proper introduction.

We know that Aurora will likely be overlooked many times over, but we also know that the perfect home is out there for her, and that good things are worth the wait.
