About Bear
Bear is possibly the most friendly and affectionate cat you may ever meet. He has no fear and has lots of confidence. He loves to follow his foster carer around all day long and we refer to him as "a dog in a cat body".
This little dude loves to play, cuddle and he purrs immediately when you pick him up. He needs lots of love and if you aren’t giving it to him he will loudly protest! He especially loves tummy rubs and playing with his favourite toy, "da bird". He needs a home where he will either have someone home a lot, or will have another pet to hang out with.
Bear is naughty and will pinch your food or drink right in front of you if he gets the opportunity. He particularly likes twiggie sticks, dried fruits, and red wine, so he keeps us on our toes in ensuring things that are not good for cats are kept out of reach! Bear doesn't understand the word "no" and needs an owner that will accept his cheeky nature and need to be close to his human/s.
Bear has a rare “tickled tabby” coat, meaning most of the hairs on his body contain 3 colours. Unlike a typical tabby which has a swirl or striped coat, Bear looks speckled all over. He is extremely low shedding, almost no shedding at all, so if you love cats but don’t want to constantly be using a lint roller, this little guy is perfect for you! He is believed to be an oriental mix due to his flat side profile, lanky and slim body, tickled coat, and naughty nature.
Bear was a “free” gumtree kitten we took into care that ended up a very special character but anything but free. Bear was a sickly kitten and after he was nursed back to health it was discovered that both of his testicles had not descended. This meant he had to wait to be 6 months of age and have an abdominal desex, which resulted in 3 incisions and 2 hours of work for the operating vet! Our vet bills for Bear were a little over $1500.
Bear is quite small for an adult male, but that doesn't cause him any issues, and only adds to his boyish charm. What he does not possess in size, he more than compensates for in personality!
Bear has been paying it forward by being a wonderful foster dad to several kittens over the past few months. He loves teaching them to cat and is very tolerant of their rough-housing.
