About Sadie
Meet Sadie
You won’t get the song out of your head when you meet the Sassy Miss Sadie so here’s her version “Oh Sadie the doggy lady... lick you paws, do your chores dear old Sadie...Looks as though you’ll always be a doggy lady”
Her Foster Mum thinks Sadie would make a great Tradie dog. She’s been around work sites, machinery, trucks, forklift and of course visited Bunnings. She’s calm, happy and the noises on worksites don’t bother her. On her walks she will stop and spend time watching/supervising worksites, loving the activities and waiting for some attention. Sadie would be extremely happy with her human at a work site/factory/yard setting, on a tether with her goa thorn to chomp on, supervising the trades and getting the occasional pat along with some ball chasing or tug games at smoko.
Sadie adores traveling in the car with a seatbelt tether and is sad she still hasn’t figured out how to wave with her paw out the back window.
Sadie also loves camping in the bush. Again on a long tether and once she knows the area, she’s been allowed off the tether and loves exploring with supervision when safe. She does consider herself a Ninja Dog chasing sticks and jumping over creeks.
Sadie’s Booty Rub is a thing of wonder and essential to keeping warm on a cold night up the bush ... but you probably won’t want her in your bed at home, as her booty rubs will send you tumbling off the bed!
Sadie is crate trained and house trained. Never had an accident inside and uses a doggy door to go outside.
She does need a yard to do Zoomies in, a medium to large area would be best.
She will sleep on her bed or on the couch at night and for an afternoon nap. Booty rubs on the couch while nanny napping are delightful but she gets a bit annoyed if you’re yelling at the footy or cricket on TV while she snoozes.
As SharPei X Staffy Sadie’s temperament is becoming more Staffy as she matures, now that she feels safe and secure.
Sadie has been attending Doggy Daycare & training at Homestead in Wonga Park every 2 weeks and does extremely well and would benefit from ongoing training (Reports from Homestead available) As a 14-15month old in her teenage years she has typical selective deafness, pulls on her lead for a sniff or to
look at something, then switches into a perfect young lady when she wants to. Her nature is beautiful and she loves both a quiet cuddle and bit of rough and tumble with her humans.
An owner used to Staffy behaviour or willing to learn would be great. She’s a strong lady who needs daily walks/exercise and company. If left alone for long periods of time she’ll find trouble. Someone who is firm and able to continue her training would be ideal. Sadie is extremely food driven, which makes training a breeze as she’s so receptive. Sadie came into foster care, underweight, not socialised, no knowledge of the world, suffering from skin infections and with eye issues. Her skin is now fabulous, she’s at a healthy weight and has had her eyes fixed. She has healed up well and can be hysterical to watch, when seeing new things like butterflies or pesky
flies that she couldn’t see before and the world is amazing now for Sadie which makes her a joyful canine companion.
Due to Sadie being a bit selective with other dogs she will be looking for a home with no other pets, her people home a lot, and happy to take her places, she loves car rides. She would not suit dog parks or places with lots of dogs
Sadie is untested around children. She has however spent regular time while in foster care with physically and intellectually disabled adults and she’s been wonderful with no issues other than demanding more pats and scritches.
If you can provide firm, loving leadership, along with some ongoing training for Sadie, she will be a dream dog for you, now and in the future due to her beautiful caring nature and delightful personality.

Please note- we do not work on a first in best dressed basis, we assess all applications to choose the home that we believe will best match the animal.
If you believe one of our animals would be a good match for your home please send us a detailed email us with some information about the people and any other animals in your home as well as the type of lifestyle you can offer a new rescue pet. We are volunteerswho run the rescue around families, paid employment and other commitments so your patience is appreciated.
We do require any other dogs in your home meeting our foster animal before they head home with you. This enables us to assess their compatibility and helps prevent them being returned and creating more confusion/insecurities for the foster animal.
All our animals are available for a two week trial with full refund. They are also covered by a lifetime return policy. If you ever find yourself unable to care for or keep your pet please contact us and they will come back into our care, this is a condition of our Adoptions.
