Hi, I’m Queenie

The lovely lady who used to feed me and my colony called me that. She fed me for many years out on the streets until she asked Heart and Soul Rescue to take me in.

Living on the streets was really hard. I had so many litters of kittens … some survived but many died. It made me sad that I was unable to keep my babies alive.

I was pregnant again when I was caught and taken into a house. My very last litter of kittens were born in luxury which I was glad about, even though it was all very scary for me … I’d never had a human person so close to me before. I really appreciated being able to eat as much food as I wanted … I didn’t realise how tired I was from working so hard to stay alive to look after babies for all those years.

I’m now loving living in a home. My favourite things are playing crazy games like throwing toys in the air and chasing small toys. I also love sitting high on the cat tower so I can watch my foster mum in the kitchen … sometimes she gives me things to nibble while she cooks.

I love sitting in the middle of the room, watching everything going on but I’m still a bit frightened of people getting too close to me … I’m getting braver and braver though. Sometimes my foster mum touches me when I’m eating … I don’t really like it so I move away but I love my food so much that I don’t go far.

I love being with other cats because that’s what I’m used to. I’m really looking forward to making some new friends. My two best friends were adopted a while ago and I’ve really been missing having someone to snuggle with.

I currently live with two big dogs so I’m more than happy to share my space with a respectful pooch.

I may not be a lap cat (yet) but I promise that I will love you just as much from afar until I’m brave enough to come close.
