About Harley
Harley is such a smart girl! After only a couple of days in care, she had learnt how to sit, down, stay, spin and rollover!
She loves playing fetch, and she will always drop the ball after picking up on what her foster brother did. Harley is very agile and loves to jump, she would be a great agility, flyball or disc dog. She is a firecracker who would flourish with a family familiar with working breeds who know how to tap into their natural inclination for learning and expressing their natural abilities.
Harley didn't receive a whole lot of proper socialisation prior to coming into care so does require calm leadership and direction when out and about as she gets VERY EXCITED to see other dogs, this is improving every day but will need a committed family to continue working on her leash skills.
MY IDEAL HOME: I would prefer someone that is home more often than not or another dog for company during the day as I can get a bit sad if I'm left alone for too many hours. I would love a active family with prior experience with working dogs and my preference is someone with a backyard where I can play and run during the day, high fencing is a must for keen jumping bean. A family committed to ongoing training is essential.
MY ENERGY LEVEL: High, but I will happily lay down on the couch with my humans after my exercise (body and mind) requirements have been fulfilled.
MY SUITABILITY TO CHILDREN: I am great with kids, but preferably over 8 as I can be a bit too excitable and jumpy.
MY SUITABILITY TO CATS AND DOGS: It took me a while to trust my foster brother, but now he is my best friend. I would like to live with a more mature dog that can lead by example and continue to show me how to dog. I can at times be a little bossy, I am a sassy kelpie after all.
I would not be suitable for a home with cats.

Please use these links rather than the 'Enquire' button on the pet's PetRescue profile to streamline your enquiry.
Our foster carer will contact you when we receive your application to arrange a time for you to meet with their foster pet.
We want your adoption through Maggie's to be a good experience so we will occasionally suggest a different cat or dog that may suit your situation better and the needs of the individual pet.
All our pets leave for their new homes on a two-week trial. At the end of the trial, we will transfer the microchip into your name and provide you with the pets vet certificates. Once you receive the Certificate of Identification from council, your adoption will be complete.
Please consider, that a Maggie's Pet is a pet for Life, before adopting.
This pet has been adopted and found love with its new family.
