Interactions with humans
Muffin has lived with younger children and has a lovely soft nature around people. She enjoys the company of people, very rarely jumpy unless she’s excited when you come home. She has been living in a few different foster homes and has adapted extremely well to all her carers and situations. She’s a happy go lucky kinda gal
Interaction with other animals
Muffin is a submissive girl and prefers dogs that are polite and gentle. She does not like overly dominant and will shy away from them. She enjoys a run at the park chasing and playing with other dogs. She is currently living in a home with three other dogs and has tolerated the multiple personalities within her pack. She would love another gentle friend for company
She is NOT suited to a home with cats or other pocket pets. Not suited to a rural property unless high fenced in area as shows interest in wildlife
Inside
Muffin is calm and polite in the home, very rarely jumps on the couch and prefers her mat to rest on if around the family inside
She has not displayed any destructive traits but is a foodie so will be interested if she sniffs something up on the kitchen bench
Independence
She is fine to be left alone at home but can bark at times if people walk past or if other dogs next door are barky but this has not been excessive in her current foster home
She is happy to lay about for the day and is not an overly high energy dog. She still need a home where she is mentally and physically stimulated daily so inclusion is essential
Exercise
Muffin is enthusiastic about her daily walk. So an active family is sort as it’s important to keep up her daily exercise to ensure her weight is under control as she has the tendency to be a bit podgy
She is great off lead at an enclosed oval and will return for treats
She will want to greet other dogs if they are in the vicinity.
Muffin delights in a good sniff of the daily news. She walks quite well on the lead/ harness but can pull if sees another dog out and about. Such a Little miss social butterfly
Obedience and training
Muffin knows how to sit and wait for food. She will hang around the table when people are eating so best put in another room unless you don’t mind big puppy dog eyes watching you
She takes treats gently and will sit when told
Muffin knows the commands sit, stay, wait, come, this way, drop.
Grooming and hygiene
Muffin does have a curly coat that does shed so will need regular brushing and a groom as required She’s fond of a good brush or back scratch
Muffins teeth are in great condition
Muffin is fully toilet trained
Sleeping
Muffin sleeps in her bed all night without a sound, she does have access to a doggy door for toileting
Car travel
Muffin enjoys a car ride
Happy to jump in and out with no issues. If getting into the boot of a car she may need a little heave up
Ideal home
Muffin would love the company of another dog who is gentle like herself
A home where she will be included as part of the family and be allowed inside when the family is home
No apartment or small backyard will be considered
Secure fencing, shade area
A home with children who are dog savvy and understand dog’s boundaries
