About Farah
💜 Meet Beautiful Farah 💜
HOUSEHOLD- This sweet girl has been part of our SoCares family since February this year. Farah came to us in a fearful state (not in an aggressive way). It was evident that she had lived a sheltered life and had not much exposure to new environments and people. Since then we have been busy building up her confidence and reassuring her that the world is not a scary place.
Our volunteer walkers have played a vital role in helping Farah to become adoption ready. She is a favourite among them and they have nothing but positive things to say about this precious girl.
We have discovered that Farah loves water. She makes a beeline for puddles that she encounters during her bush walks and enjoys splashing in her kennel clam pool when it is filled to the trim with water.
Farah greets everyone with a friendly hello but she still becomes unsure of herself when in new environments. We would like Farah to be in an adult home with no children so she can get the one on one time she needs to build up trust with her new people. At this stage we feel a multi family home would probably be too much for her.
ON-GOING TRAINING- Farah needs to build confidence in a variety of settings and her new owner will need to be understanding of this.
Farah does already know how to sit on command and responds well to treat training.
OTHER DOGS- Sometimes when meeting new dogs Farah becomes unsure and will submissively back away but overall she mostly does enjoy their company.
Farah would be best suited to a friendly canine buddy who is not forceful with her and able to give her some space when needed. Farah would also be content to be the only girl of her new household.
CATS/OTHER ANIMALS- Farah is not suited to a home with cats. In their presence she becomes fearful and uncomfortable.
CARE/GROOMING- Farah has a thin coat and won’t require much maintenance. A general brush and wash when needed should keep her coat and skin in tip top condition.
EXERCISE/LEAD MANNERS: Farah is great to walk on the lead. Initially in her excitement she may pull but she quickly settles. With people she knows and trusts, Farah loves exploring the outdoors. But for now we think it’s best for Farah to stay inside her new home and yard until she has time to decompress.
Farah has been in our care for 7 months and it is going to take her time to readjust and taking her outside into a big open space straight away might be too over stimulating for her in the first few weeks.
NUTRITION- Farah isn’t a fussy eater. She has shown us no aggression with her food.
BREED - Beautiful Staffy Cross
Farah is located at our Charmhaven Shelter and her $300 adoption fee covers: breed and temperament assessment,
