About Skye - 3 Year Old Cavoodle (Trial)
This GORGEOUS girl is "Sweet Girl Skye" a gentle, loving, and playful 3 year old Cavoodle - looking for her perfect furrrever home!
Skye has been living in foster care for 3 weeks with her foster brother (2 year old Moodle), and Foster Mum (32 year old Human) and has bought so much more love into the home. Skye was very anxious when she first arrived in foster care, but after 2-3 days Skye was part of the family.
Skye loves cuddles, and aims to give and receive about 1000 per day, give or take, and although being 11.5kgs, and knee height when standing, nothing stops Skye from showing off her lap dog ability!
Skye would need someone home more often than not, and would love a fur-sibling (dogs ONLY) to play with and become best friends with ! Skye loves to sleep near you or on the bed, and this would be a non - negotiable.
Skye loves to play under the hose on a warm day, and enjoys playing fetch with the tennis ball. Skye is so clever she knows how to "sit" and "shake hands" and is slowly learning other commands like "stay".
Skye enjoys walks on the lead, but does get anxious and will bark at passing dogs at times. Skye had shown some reactivity behaviours such as "lunging" and "pulling" when in new environments, and in stimulating environments like a cafe or beach. Skye is best to be walked in quiet environments for awhile first until she feels safe with you. Skye's foster Mum believes that with time and patience and some training tips from our DRN trainers, Skye can learn to feel safe and secure on walks again - but this is not something that can be rushed, and Skye deserves patience and support with this.
Skye and her foster Mum came up with Skye's furever home wishlist below- Skye is a healthy, relatively young dog with lots of life left to enjoy so if you think you are the best fit for Skye we'd love to hear from you and know why😊
- Someone home more often than not (full time workers will not be considered unless working from home)
- Someone who will play with her and give her the love and affection she needs and deserves
- Someone willing to invest time and patience in helping Skye to feel safe, calm and secure on lead walks - support available from DRN trainers
- Someone with a medium sized backyard, minimum 5ft fencing and secure
- A fur-sibling would be ideal, (strictly no cats - has been cat tested and it did not go well)
- Skye would enjoy human siblings too - ages 8 and up (but not essential).
Skye is in foster care in Warabrook, Newcastle, NSW. Her adoption fee is $700 and she is desexed, vaccinated, treated for fleas and worms, and microchipped.
