About Ahana
Ahana is our gorgeous little baby!
She is such a sweet girl who has grown in confidence and developed a fun, loving personality. Ahana loves cuddles and will happily snuggle up in your lap for a nap. She is so beautiful with her fluffy coat and adorable white markings on her chest and little toes. Ahana loves to play with toys, particularly pom pom balls, and enjoys a good game of tug of war as well.
Ahana has been diagnosed with an open fontanelle (soft spot in the skull), like many of her breed type; however, it has started to close while in our care. The vet indicates that there is every chance that this will completely close up as she ages. If by chance it does not close, Ahana’s new owners will need to be prepared to do everything in their power to ensure she doesn’t receive a bad knock to the head. Regardless of whether her fontanelle closes or not, she will live a normal happy life.
Ahana has been in care with her mum and two sisters. Mum Kahloo is a 5kg chihuahua mix and the dad is reportedly a Pomeranian, so she is expected to be a small sized dog when fully grown. She is currently a teeny tiny 1.2kg. While in care, she has met a whole range of other dogs in controlled settings, so she has a good head start on her dog socialisation. Ahana loves to play with her siblings. They chase each other around the yard, play rumbling games together and when it is all done, they curl up together for a nap. Ahana is expected to be a relatively active dog so will need daily exercise throughout her life.
Thanks to her foster carer, Ahana and her siblings are well adapted puppies. They have met a range of people and been taken on appropriate outings to begin their exposure to the big wide world. Ahana has been exposed to a range of normal household activities and noises such as vacuuming, lawn mowing, TV, music, dogs barking, etc. She travels well in the car and progressing well with toilet training using a fake grass mat when inside. Like with any new puppy, Ahana’s new owners must have a plan for her ongoing training, exposure and socialisation to continue her development.
We are looking for a dog experienced home for Ahana where she will be a loved member of the family. She can live with another friendly small breed dog in the home and/or where someone is home more often than not. If transitioning to being an only dog, her new owners must have the ability to provide appropriate training and support during the setting in period. Ahana will need to be allowed inside the home and must sleep inside at night. Any yard or balcony will need to have fencing appropriate for containing such a small sized puppy as well. Ahana’s new home can have pets of other types, but she will not be rehomed with children (or couples who may have children in the future) just in case her fontanelle does not close up.
If you would like to make this gorgeous little girl a part of your family, then please complete a Dog Adoption Enquiry form on the Fetching Dogs website as the first step. Please include plenty of details about your previous dog experience, current household members and the type of lifestyle you can offer Ahana.

Don't see a breed attached to one of our dogs? That's because we don't breed label dogs of unknown genetic history. We can't guess at breeds but that's okay, because we can tell you about the dog's individual personality, character, and behaviour.
