About Ishani
Looking for a big dog in a small body? Meet Ishani!
This little pup is a live wire who is full of life and ready to take on the world. Ishani is active and playful. She adores her people, and she does love some cuddle time but she definitely won’t be a full time lap dog. Ishani loves to run around and doesn’t let her size stop her trying new things. She has a confident and outgoing personality and will thrive in a home who will go out and do plenty with her. Ishani loves toys, balls and to play tug of war. With the recent heat she has also discovered her love for water in the shell pool! This girl will give anything a go.
Ishani has been in care with her mum (a Chihuahua mix around 5kg) and her two sisters. She has had a fantastic start to her socialisation with other dogs as there has been dogs of all different ages and sizes also in her foster home. Ishani loves to run up and down with the other puppies and is all in for a game of rumbles. She will be a small dog when fully grown (currently 1.85kg and surrendering owner reports father is a Pomeranian) but she will be relatively active. This means she will require daily exercise and mental stimulation to fulfil her needs. Compared to her sisters, Ishani has that bit more spunk and go about her that needs to be channelled in the right direction.
Thanks to her foster carer, Ishani and her siblings are well adapted puppies. They have met a range of people and been taken on appropriate outings to begin their exposure to the big wide world. Ishani has been exposed to a range of normal household activities and noises such as vacuuming, lawn mowing, TV, music, dogs barking, etc. She travels well in the car and is progressing well with toilet training using a fake grass mat when inside. Like with any new puppy, Ishani’s new owners must have a plan for her ongoing training, exposure and socialisation to continue her development.
We are looking for a dog experienced home for Ishani where she will be a loved member of the family and included in the daily activities. Ideally, her owners will be home more often than not. She can live with other friendly and playful dogs as long as any medium or large sized dogs are appropriately trained and managed around a puppy of such a small size. Ishani is fine to be an only dog and be the centre of attention, but her new owners should be able to have the time to train and support her through the settling in period.
Ishani must be allowed inside the home and sleep inside. She does know her voice so is probably better suited to a house rather than a unit, but any yard or balcony will need to have appropriate fencing for such a tiny puppy. Ishani is ok to live with older children (teenagers) who understand how to appropriately handle her, and she could live with other types of pets with the appropriate introductions and guidance. Ishani would be suitable to partake in dog sports activities if her new owners are so inclined as she is a smart and responsive puppy.

Don't see a breed attached to one of our dogs? That's because we don't breed label dogs of unknown genetic history. We can't guess at breeds but that's okay, because we can tell you about the dog's individual personality, character, and behaviour.
