About Jiya
This gorgeous little ball of fluff is ready to fly into her new home!
Little Jiya is an absolute joy. She is a spunky and playful puppy who loves to run around and stretch her legs and flies when she gets the zoomies. But if you come over you are going to get swamped as she loves her people and attention just as much. Jiya will climb up into your lap and try to climb up to reach your face for kisses. She loves to curl up in your lap for some snuggles and will happily have a nap there if you let her - well do you actually get a choice when a cute puppy falls asleep on your lap?! Jiya is the type of pup that just lights up the room when she enters. She has such a wonderful outgoing and confident personality, and will bring so much joy, happiness and laughter to her new owners.
Jiya has been diagnosed with an open fontanelle (soft spot in the skull), like many of her breed type, and it has not started to close while in our care. While she will still live a normal life, her new owners must be prepared that it may be a permanent feature. The goal is to ensure that Jiya never receives a bad knock to the head. Therefore, there are certain requirements she needs in her new home including that it is adult only (no children).
Jiya has been in foster care with her mum and 2 sisters. But she has also been introduced to a range of other dogs of all ages and sizes, right up to Great Dane size! So, she is well ahead in her socialisation with other dogs. Jiya loves to play with her siblings. They rough and tumble pretending they are big dogs. She also likes to play with toys, particularly pom poms, and play tug of war. Jiya’s mum is a Chihuahua mix and, according to the surrendering owner, her father is a Pomeranian. Currently, she is just a tiny 1.65kg and will only be a small dog when fully grown. Jiya is a relatively active puppy despite her size, so will need daily exercise and the opportunity to get her zoomies in.
Thanks to her foster carer, Jiya and her siblings are well adapted puppies. They have met a range of people and been taken on appropriate outings to begin their exposure to the big wide world. Jiya has been exposed to a range of normal household activities and noises such as vacuuming, lawn mowing, TV, music, dogs barking, etc. She travels well in the car and progressing well with toilet training using a fake grass mat when inside. Like with any new puppy, Jiya’s new owners must have a plan for her ongoing training, exposure and socialisation to continue her development.
We are looking for a dog experienced home for Jiya where she will be a treasured member of the family and included in the daily activities. She can live with another friendly small breed dog in the home and/or where someone is home more often than not. If transitioning to being an only dog, her new owners must have the ability to provide appropriate training and support during the setting in period. Jiya will need to be allowed inside the home and must sleep inside at night. Any yard or balcony will need to have fencing appropriate for containing such a small sized puppy as well. Jiya’s new home can have pets of other types, but she will not be rehomed with children (or couples who may have children in the future) due to her open fontanelle.

Don't see a breed attached to one of our dogs? That's because we don't breed label dogs of unknown genetic history. We can't guess at breeds but that's okay, because we can tell you about the dog's individual personality, character, and behaviour.
