About Milo
Milo has been through so much in his life. First, he was found on the streets with a broken leg. Then his new owners mistakenly thought he wasn't in pain so didn't get his leg amputated. 3 years later, Milo lost his home in a relationship breakup and came to Hisses to Purrs. Hisses to Purrs immediately noticed Milo's leg and booked him in for x-rays. It was found that there was no saving Milo's leg, so he was booked in for amputation as soon as possible. During this process, it was found that Milo's teeth were in a bad state and he also needed a dental. Hisses to Purrs got this done as soon as Milo had recovered from his amputation. After a few months in care, Milo is finally ready to find his new home.
Milo is a quiet boy who comes across as a grumpy old man but that's all a bit of bravado. While he isn't a lap cat, he loves to sit next to you and lick you until you give him attention. He follows you around and loves to know what you're up to. At night, he'll curl up on the bed and sleep with you.
Unlike the typical Ragdoll myth, he isn't fond of being picked up and would prefer to have his 3 legs firmly on the ground thank you very much!
Milo will tolerate other cats and tolerates his foster carer's placid large-breed dog, but much prefers attention all to himself. He would be a great companion for an older person looking for a single cat to keep them company.
Milo has been:
- Tried with teenagers and is fine with them (younger children would be too loud for him)
- Tried with other cats and tolerates them (would prefer a home by himself)
- Tried with a large-breed placid dog and isn't really a fan (would prefer a home without a dog)
Milo is approximately 8 years old (DOB: 10/07/2015) and his adoption fee of $300 includes:
- Desexing
- Full vaccinations
- Microchipping
- Full health check
- Parasite treatments up to date of adoption
- Litter training
- Socialisation
- An adoption pack with some of his current food, dental treats, a carrier blanket, a set of toys, and other goodies to get him started.
Milo is available to meet at his foster carer's home at Murray Bridge.
If you would like to meet this special tripod boy, please fill out the following form (https://forms.gle/hadqmP3cVaDLviC9A) and his foster carer will be in touch to arrange a time to meet him!
Medical notes
Milo has had his leg amputated and has fully recovered from this. He has also recently had a dental procedure. It is recommended that he stay on oral food for his dental health.
Adoption details
Kittens and cats are adopted through their foster homes. Potential adopters are encouraged to contact Hisses to Purrs by phone, email or Facebook to arrange a meet and greet with the kitten they are interested in.
All kittens and cats are microchipped, vaccinated, desexed and parasite treated prior to adoption. There are no exceptions to this rule.
Pre-adoptions are available for adopters who wish to adopt a specific kitten or cat who has not reached weight for desexing, or who are awaiting their vet appointment. A minimum deposit can be made to pre-adopt a kitten awaiting their vet work. Kittens and cats remain in the care of Hisses to Purrs until desexing has occurred and in the case of female kittens and cats, until 5 days after desexing to give them time to heal.
All kittens and cats adopted through us must be kept indoors or have access to a secure cat enclosure. This is non-negotiable for the safety and health of our kittens and cats.
If you wish to adopt a cat or kitten, please fill out the adoption application form https://forms.gle/hadqmP3cVaDLviC9A
