About Milo
♥️Adopt Milo♥️
Vic location
Our sweet pup Milo is now ready for adoption. Milo is a 10 month old bull terrier x border collie and was a very sad and regretful surrender, one in which his previous owner still asks us daily how he is doing. He was and still is very loved.
Milo is currently residing in foster care in Edithvale Vic and would be the perfect companion for most families wanting a young dog as a best friend.
The following is written lovingly by his current foster carer to help us find the perfect home for this beautiful boy....
"Milo is a very friendly and intelligent young dog that lives life with exuberance. He really just wants to love and be loved, and is happiest sitting next to you (more likely on you) or sleeping on your feet while you watch television in the evening.
Belly rubs are requested often. Training Milo is fun and easy, he understands Sit, Stay, Out, Wait, Go, Down, Shake, and No.
Sometimes he has trouble listening as he gets so excited to be with you.
He is not very good on the lead as he always wants to get to the next place/smell/tree quickly and could do well with a halti. I walk him in a harness as he can, and will, slip out of a collar. He would make a great running partner.
Another thing that would be great with Milo is agility training. When he is doing zoomies in the backyard he goes over tables, under benches, through the cat house, and around anything else he can find... like his very own agility course.
I was told that he suffers separation anxiety but I've not seen it. He may whinge for a couple of seconds but that's it. He can entertain himself quite well but if he is left with nothing to occupy him he can become Destructor Dog. Cushions and soft toys are a favourite of his as he can remove covers and then destroy the filling. A dog puzzle, or a treasure hunt are fun for him.
He loves cats. He thinks they are great fun to chase and if he manages to corner one he just stands there and waits for it to play. A confident cat and a slow introduction should have them become the best of friends.
I'm not sure how he is with other dogs but he seems to reflect the nature of the dogs we meet on our walks: calm with calm dogs, reactive to dogs that show aggression.
Please do not put Milo in a crate or cage. He hates them and will cry for hours. I'm trying to improve this by leaving an open crate with comfy bedding in his room. In the car he behaves very well - sitting quietly and looking out the window or lying down for a quiet snooze.
Unfortunately Milo is wary of males. Slow and gentle is the way to go.
.
He adores kids and my granddaughters play with Milo until they are all exhausted. Great with kids 8+ but a bit bouncy for little kids.
This little man will eat almost anything, except green beans, and will try and steal a sneaky sip of your coffee over your shoulder. I am training him to sit and wait for his dinner and it's going well.
Milo is a lovely little man that is quite gentle (but very bouncy) and really just wants a forever home where he can love and be loved."
Milos previous owner confirmed all of the above to be 100% true and confirmed that sadly that he was hurt by a male in the past when their house was broken into 😢
