About Benny
Please meet Benny, the sweet grumbling but oh so needy Benny
Benny is a 4 year and 8 month old Dachshund who weighs 7.1 kg
My foster mum describes me as a needy bum! Now when you meet me you will think she lied because I can be shy when meeting new people but if you give me a chance to settle in you will see that my needy side will come out.
I love to lie next to my foster mum when she is on the couch and I like to follow (my foster mum says waddle) after her when she is doing things in the house but I think I’m super helpful.
My foster mum has said that I have to do the right thing and advise you that my neediness can also translate into following you everywhere you go and stare at you looking adorably and I will also ensure you have a personal security guard when going to the toilet, shower or cook dinner – don’t worry – I will be there!
So my ideal home would be where I can lie on a couch and sleep thru the day or on the bed – I love to sleep under the blankets on the bed or the couch. I like to cocoon myself.
I happily will go for a walk and car rides but I’m not a fan of big social events especially where there is lots of people or dogs – I will grumble under my breath the whole time.
I came into care from being a breeding dog so I am looking for a home where I can be an only dog or only one or two other dogs meeting lots of dogs – I don’t want pups in my face and will grumble at them and growl trying to look scary and mature!
I would be fine with another dog as long as they didn’t want to play with me or try and just be annoying to me. Happy if they were a chilled dog.
I have not been tested on cats
I currently live with a 9 year old boy who doesn’t really bother me and I don’t really bother him – I don’t want to be in a home with kids who want to try and pick me up.
I can be a fussy eater but my foster mum has a rule at her house – everyone eats or you go hungry (nah just joking she just tells me that she is not a 5 star chef so eat what is offered (I do!)
Now I probably sound like a really grumpy boy – I’m honestly not – I am just clear on what I do and don’t like and my foster mum says that’s okay I have the rest of my life to live and be as happy as I should be.
So if you’re looking for a super sweet loving boy who’s just looking for a quiet life were we can share cuddles the blanket and walkies - please apply!!!

Once an adoption enquiry is completed our admin team will assess the application and if successful we will arrange for a meet and greet to be completed. We may also request photos of your yard for consideration of your application. Please note that we will do no more than 3 meet and greets per dog.
Approved applicants will be contacted to arrange a time for a meet & greet via email. You must bring your current dog along to the meeting if you are meeting another dog/puppy, this is to ensure they get along before commencing adoption - proof of your dogs up-to-date vaccination is required before any meet and greet is arranged.
Our adoption fee must be cleared in our bank account before any animal is available for pick up. Please note we bank with ANZ - any other bank may take 48 hours to process the monies.
Paw Prints Canine Rescue has a 10 day trial period – this basically means that if for any reason the adoption does not work out and the dog needs to be returned to us, the adoption fee minus an admin fee (minimum is $100) will be returned to the adoptees via bank transfer within 7 working days.
Please note that if an interstate adoption needs to be returned or regional adoption all transport cost with be paid by the adopter.
Please also note while this can be a very exciting time for everyone, it can also be an overwhelming time for dogs and we ask that you do try and allow your new family member to settle in their new home and adjust
INTERSTATE ADOPTIONS **
Any transport costs are to be paid by the adopting family, however we can assist you in helping with transport to airports etc.
** Please note some of our dogs are not available for interstate adoption
