About Rufus - 2 Year Old Pug X (Trial)
Meet Rufus, a young Pug X. He is slightly bigger than a Pug but with slightly longer, softer fur and about 9 kgs in size.
At about 2 years of age, you'd have a long term best buddy in Rufus! He sleeps all night although will take himself out via the doggy door when needed. He loves a day time sleep or two as well.
Rufus travels well in the car and has been living with two small dogs at his foster carer's home. Rufus shows no food aggression at all. He doesn't nip or grab at food. He is a bit of an attention hog so he may prefer being an only dog. He has met cats and was inquisitive but not aggressive and kept a respectful distance.
We think he would do well in a home with children of the age of eight and up.
Rufus is a loving companion, but he likes a simple and quiet life. He may not be the cafe kind of dog, but he will surely enjoy going for long walks with his special person.
When meeting new friends, it would need to be in a quiet environment, and a slow introduction, as he can feel overwhelmed by crowds. He’s very treat responsive so we believe this could be turned around quite easily.
Rufus loves the garden hose and a splash by the lakeside. He is also super easy to bathe.
Rufus would need to have access to inside and outside at all times at his new home. Due to his breed, he can be affected by extreme weather.
He is a very sweet boy who loves people and loves a cuddle. Rufus is a good lad seeking company and is an awesome watch dog! Rufus doesn't bark unless there's someone walking by or the post is being delivered. He'll let you know but quickly settles. He would alert you to an intruder with his big bark! He is loud for a little boy but not troublesome. He's almost perfect!
Rufus is in foster care in Booragul, NSW. Adoption fee is $600.
