Hey everyone, my name is Bella!
I am a sweet, happy dog with a loving personality. I was rescued after my owner abandoned me. A rescue took my puppies but left me behind :( and I spent 11 entire months in the council pound desperate to get out of there! Off The Chain heard of me and got to work, they rescued me and I made my way to them.
Since arriving into care, I've been easy to care for! I get along with other dogs and am respectful of the cats. I'm super duper patient with the foster puppy that lives here, even when she could do with a telling off- I tend to just let her push me round haha! I love my human toddler friend and am very gentle with him! I am a very sweet, calm girl who loves to curl up at your feet or next to you on the couch and I definitely think I'm a lap dog- give me ALL the pats please! I am very affectionate and a great people pet - I have even gone to work before in my foster mum's hair salon and I was perfectly behaved! I would be a great dog to accompany you for Sunday brunch or a nice stroll through the gardens. I'm still figuring out which toys are my favourite and I LOVE treats.
I travel well in the car; my carers buckle me into a harness seat-belt for my own safety which also lets me know I am expected to stay in my seat. I am a dog that is used to part time workers and being in the yard when they're gone, and I enjoy coming inside at night to be a part of the family. I am working on my leash skills and enjoy my walks. I even love baths! I am fully grown at 35kg and just above knee height.
I would like to be behind a 5ft fence or higher with no gaps or footholds, so that I stay safely in my yard. To keep my brain busy, my carers usually give me my breakfast scattered across the grass, or in a puzzle toy or kong- and my dinner easily accessible in a bowl. I enjoy the challenge of the toys, but working for every meal is a bit too much so that's why my carers have balance! I'd suit a loving family who will make me a real friend and part of the family and make sure I never get abandoned again!
So what do you think? Could I be the one for you? Apply to make me a part of your family today.
Adoption details
Before applying, please consider and finalise the following:
- Real estate approval
- Fence requirements
- Outside shelter areas
- Other resident pets fully vaccinated and preferably desexed
- The rescue pet's dietary requirements eg large breed vs medium breed, age
- Enrichment, exercise and training needs of pet you are applying for
- If you have not read our adoption process below in full, please do not apply until you have.
Once you are ready to adopt, please complete the OTC Adoption Application questionnaire below. This is not a contract or agreement of any kind, just an expression of interest in the animal. We will not authorise meets unless this has been completed and only approved applicants may meet the animal. Once you are approved and have submitted all relevant information, we will organise for you to meet the pet. We will not contact you if you do not complete the form in full AND provided the required photos of yard/fencing within 48hrs. Photos may be sent to our facebook page, or email offthechaink9rescue@outlook.com

If you apply to adopt but require us to hold the pet more than 3 days before meeting, we will ask you for a non-refundable holding deposit of $100. If you are unwilling to put a deposit on the pet, we will continue to advertise and speak with other potential adopters. If you follow through with adoption after your meet, the $100 holding deposit is then subtracted from the outstanding adoption fee, which is to be paid at collection of the pet. Eg if full adoption fee is $450, and you place a $100 holding fee on the animal- the day you collect the pet you will sign an adoption contract and pay the remaining $350 fee.
All animals are adopted out with vaccinations up to date; any vaccinations due from date of adoption are the ethical and financial responsibility of the adopter. During the trial period, should the pet become ill, you must notify OTC, and present it to the OTC-approved vet clinic we direct you to in your area. OTC will cover any treatment needed at our authorised clinics.
Ready to roll? Then fill out the application form, and we will be in contact to successful applicants asap. Feel free to follow us up via Facebook page inbox. (www.facebook.com/offthechaink9)
