About Emily
Emily came into care a scared, bewildered girl, having been found in a noisy industrial site in Liverpool by a kind man, but she was won over with Dine creamy treats, regular food and gentle conversations within just 2 weeks. She is now quite a confident girl with her foster carers, who LOVES to get pats, chin scritches and belly rubs. She has spent the last 4 months or so teaching young, orphaned kittens how to ‘cat’ as it were…she has taught them how to use litter trays, taught them how to play (and how NOT to play!) and how to groom themselves. She is a gentle girl, who will make her joy known when she trills and brrs at her humans, and while her foster carers would love to keep her, she deserves a home of her own where she is the centre of attention, where she has her own bed and sunny spot on the floor to enjoy. When she goes to her new home, we do expect there to be an adjustment period where she may become shy and scared of her new surroundings and/or people, but she has never lashed out violently while in care, and with time, patience, space, and calm, gentle words, we expect she would come around quite quickly.
Emily has not been tested with children as her foster carers do not have any, but they believe she may adjust to older children over time.
Emily also hasn’t had much to do with dogs. What contact she has had with the foster carers small dogs has been limited…she is scared of them but hasn’t lashed out at them. More likely to try and hide somewhere or try and get high up on a cat tree or bookshelf somewhere.
Emily has successfully raised 5 infant kittens that were orphaned, from when they were around 2 months old. She has been introduced to a couple of adult cats and has retreated, being unsure of them, but has not lashed out at them.
Emily is looking for a strictly indoors in a home where there are secure screens on windows and doors. Could potentially adapt to other calm pets within the household IF introduced appropriately. Hasn’t had much to do with children but we are confident she would adapt to an older child (10+years) in time, if they have been taught how to interact with and handle cats appropriately.
If you feel Emily could be the piece of sweetness missing your life, please contact us now for a meet and greet TODAY!!
Medical notes
Emily has had all her vetwork done. No other medical notes.
Adoption details
Before Adoption:
Before adopting a new pet, ensure all family members understand that a pet is an emotional and financial commitment that you need to be prepared to love, house and keep safe for the next 15 to 20 years. This means premium nutrition, preventative health care, regular veterinary check-ups and keeping them inside or only having access to a cat proof area or yard. Pet insurance with accident and illness cover gives you piece of mind knowing your pet can get the veterinary care they may need and you will not have to worry about all of the expense.
We start by either emailing you our adoption questionnaire or having a chat on the phone to obtain some details about who you are and what you’re looking for in a feline companion. Next step is to organise a meet and greet. Depending on your location, we bring the feline/s to you or you can come and visit the foster carer's home. There is usually a 24 hour wait from the meet and greet to collecting your new family member so everyone has a night to think things over and so you have a chance to prepare your home. If all goes well and everyone is happy, the adoption paperwork is signed and you collect your new family member.
All adoptions are subject to a two week settling in period. If for any reason your new addition is not suited to your lifestyle, you are welcome to return them for a full refund of the adoption fee.
After adoption, we continue to provide ongoing advice and support in order to help you care for your new family member. To find out more about any of our orphans, please contact Judith on 0407112207. After the settling period we will always take back the cat no questions asked.
