About Paula
The first thing you will notice about Paula is her stunning good looks. She is a true beauty and everyone who meets her falls in love at first sight.
She loves people and is relaxed, mature and confident - she'll happily accept all the pats and cuddles that come her way, and impress your visitors with her perfect manners and gentle nature.
She is great with all humans, from kids to elderly, but being a mature lady, her home environment needs to be relaxed and peaceful. A retired person or couple would be perfect for this low-maintenance, calm, gentle lady.
True to her breed, she is a real couch potato and loves spending quiet time relaxing on the sofa with her human/s (or a canine buddy!), but loves a bed of her own to settle into for the night.
She enjoys exploring the garden and making little "snoozing nests", so while she doesn't need a large yard, a bit of garden space is a must - but please note, if you have an immaculate garden and don't want a couple of greyhound sized craters tucked in under bushes she may not be your perfect match... She does need secure fencing - not that she is a wanderer or escapologist, but if she spots your neighbour's cat she'll be after it! She is definitely NOT suitable to share a home with cats (or rabbits or similar small furry fam members). She is, however, great with other dogs, large and small, and really enjoys having one for a buddy - though would also be happy as an "only dog" if her humans are home most of the time.
She loves car rides and enjoys a daily leisurely walk/stroll on leash, preferably with some leisurely "sniffing" stops along the way. (If you're looking for a running partner, look elsewhere!)
Her manners are exemplary and if you like leisurely walks, visiting pet friendly cafes, markets, shopping centres, parks, playgrounds, or even visiting a relative in a nursing home, you have just found your perfect companion!

💕💕💕💕💕
Sunny Days is a registered charity, foster care network and private shelter, focusing on the rescue, rehab and rehoming of cats who've never had experience with humans, and of dogs who may not have been given a chance by others. You can support us by clicking the pink DONATE button on this page or further options at the bottom of this section. Thankyou!
💕 ABOUT OUR WORK WITH CATS:
We run a donation funded shelter in semi-rural Avalon, that was previously used for dog breeding. When we took ownership of the property, our hard working volunteers spent many months transforming the building into a bright and colourful environment featuring 7 large, fully enclosed pens capable of housing 8 wild-born cats. We take in full cat colonies, pregnant and nursing mothers, ophan kittens, FIV positive cats, and sick or injured cats. Cats are humanely trapped after being identified as un-owned; we don't take in domesticated cats and have extensive processes to ensure cats trapped are true strays as opposed to owned. We don't give cats deadlines to be socialised by or they'll be euthanised, we provide sanctuary for them for as long as they need.
💕 ABOUT OUR WORK WITH DOGS:
We take in dogs from community surrenders, owned arranged euthanasia's which vets have intervened on, and greyhounds retired from or not suitable for racing. Most of our dogs are with us for extended periods to ensure we know them really well before putting them up for adoption, and have been assessed by professional dog trainers if not worked with extensively. We provide full discretion with adopters about dogs' health and behaviour and ongoing support to integrate adopted dogs into new homes, families and lifestyles. The success and longevity of our dogs' adoptions is very important to us.
💕 CAN YOU HELP US?
As a small team without government or corporate funding, our services are in constant demand and our resources stretched. You can donate directly to the animal in this profile by clicking the pink DONATE button on this page, or contact us if you'd like to sponsor a street cat's rehab and housing which usually takes one year minimum but more often longer.
