About Penelope aka Penny
Penelope, known as Penny for short, is a mature female German Shepherd who found herself in an animal holding facility. She is looking for a foster carer as well as her forever home.
Penelope has been trained by our trainer to be social with people and to walk on a loose lead. She has not been tested with cats and may not be suitable to live with young children due to her size. Penelope is probably best as an only dog.
Penelope has a beautiful nature, very loving and eager to please, loves people. She loves car trips, ball games, swimming, fully house trained, loves cuddling up with her head on your lap. She is a gorgeous, lovely natured, playful, sweet, intelligent girl.
Penelope is an mature dog and would be best suited to a home where she will be an integral family member where she will be included in family activities.
If you have recently owned a German Shepherd or large breed dog, and understand German Shepherds and think you have the energy to give me a new home, then please select the "Enquire about Penelope".
If you live in Queensland or Victoria, you can be considered, however you will need to be able to drive with your family to meet Penelope. If for any reason she doesn't fit your family you will be responsible for bringing her back to Sydney or helping us to rehome from your home.
Medical notes
Penelope is microchipped, vaccinated, desexed and has been heart worm tested negative.
Adoption details
We have an Adoptions Manager who screens all prospective candidates as to their suitability to adopt a German Shepherd Dog.
We try to contact every one by phone but if that isn't successful we will email our application form to you, which needs to be completed and returned, or you can call us back and we can chat and complete for you. We will also ask you to provide photos of your yard and fencing to enable us to see where the dog will be kept and that they have areas of shade and shelter.
All our dogs are ready to go to their new home, so when you enquire about a dog you must be in a position to take them into your home. We are unable to hold a dog while you fix your fences or go on holiday, etc.
The successful candidate who adopts one of our dogs is provided with an information kit, ongoing support, training and advice on all aspects of feeding, training and general assistance to ensure both the new owner and our rescued dog settle into their home.
