About Tessie
Introducing our sweet little Tessie girl who is now looking for her forever home. Tessie is a tiny 4.9 kilo , friendly, gentle and such a loveable girl. True to her breed she is very inquisitive of what is going on in the home or around her. She loves when the kids are playing outside so she can get involved and chase them around the backyard. lol she also is a happy girl entertaining herself by playing with all her toys- we will often catch her running around the backyard with her fox or lamb. It's very cute.
Tessie also has the cutest ever head tilt! We believe she was born like this which makes her even more beautiful.Tessie is a pocket rocket with the busiest little legs you've ever seen lol. This girl gets so very excited about life.
When you first get home she will get so excited and parkour around the house until she settles lol
Tessie loves her toys and will self entertain playing with her favorite ones while her hoomans are away from the home.

Favorite Things
Tessie loves to be involved with her family whether it’s, following her foster mum around the house or playing in the backyard with the kids, playing with her soft toys or going for a walk. She also loves a cuddle on the couch when the house settles for the night.
Interactions With Humans
Tessie absolutely adores all humans whether they’re male, female, kids or adults and even strangers. She greets everyone with excitement and can’t wait for a pat to say hello. She gets so excited that she does laps around the table or spins in little circles. She’s excellent with the kids, she’s very respectful and will gently jump up for a pat- lucky she’s only a tiny girl so she won’t push anyone over lol
Obedience and Training
Tessie is only a young girl and hasn’t had much training at all. We are still working on her toilet training and she will have the occasional accident in her crate overnight. Tessie gets very excited when it’s walk time and will often grab hold of the lead to walk herself so she will need someone to work with her and teach her how to calm down on the lead. Tessie traveled well in the car in a crate and didn’t make any noise or get car sick.
Animal Social Skills
Tessie has been in foster care with cats and she is very interested in them. She will run up to them to sniff them and if they run she thinks it’s a game of chase. She has received a few swipes from the cats and will then know to keep clear. Tessie so far had a meet with another little older dog and she was very excited and wanted to play, she does like to get up close and being young is still learning her boundaries.
Food
Tessie LOVES her food. She has two meals a day which consists of dry food for breakfast and wet food for dinner. She also hasn’t shown any signs of food aggression.
Independence
Tessie has been really well behaved when left alone at home. She is happy to play in the backyard with her toys by herself or lay in the sun when it’s out. She has however started to chew her bed but I think it’s just puppy behavior.
Bathing and Hygiene
Tessie was a good girl while having a bath , she had a beautiful soft healthy coat.
Sleeping
Tessie sleeps in the lounge room at night time in her crate. She’s a very good girl when it’s bedtime and makes no noise. She will normally wake up around 7am and then cry to go outside for the toilet. She is still having the occasional accidents in the crate overnight.
Exercise
Tessie being a JRT x Foxy has lots of energy and loves to go on her daily walk. She would be happy with at least a 30 to 45 mins walk each day.
MEDICAL
Tessie has a slight head tilt that we are aware was from birth. She also when excited will run in a few circles but this is also typical small dog behavior. Tessie has been assessed by 2 different vets and both believe there are no neurological problems that will cause her issues
Inside the Home
Tessie loves to be inside with her family, she does get excited when she comes in and will explore the house and check what everyone is up to. She will have the occasional accident inside but, with regular reminders of going outside for the toilet she will pick it up in no time.
Ideal Home
Tessie is a high energy little munchkin that would be best suited to a home that has her energy to match. She is a young girl who would benefit from a younger rather than senior mature aged home.
Tessie’s ideal home is to be with a family that’s home more often than not. A home where she can be an inside dog and have regular walks each day. If her new home has cats they would need to be dog savvy and not afraid to show her who’s boss. If there is a dog in the home he would need to be easy going and submissive. Tessie needs a home where they will be patient and kind and teach her how to grow into the best girl she can be.
Ideal home. / Adoption Criteria
Tessie doesn't need a large yard but does need a yard to play and run in so we are seeking a home with a yard to zoom and play that has secure fencing, grass and shade and shelter
Children in the home are fine but we seek gentle loving, kind dog savvy children of mature ages as she is very small and we don't want her dropped or fallen on.
A home that are prepared to take her on a daily walk as she just loves it
Cats are ok BUT they must be very dog savvy as she really likes to play with them
A home where she is allowed inside and will continue on her toilet training
A home with another dog is fine but we seek a playful dog that will tolerate a young higher energy puppy
A home that will shower Tessie with affection as she is such a loving happy little pup
