The divine Miss Akaya is ready to find her tribe.

Akaya seems to have been an outside dog in her previous life, but has just flourished since being part of a family.

She is a beautiful and affectionate dog who loves nothing more than giving and receiving kisses and cuddles. She will shadow you, but is more than ok being left alone while you go to work, as long as you don’t forget to take her for lots of walks. She is not destructive.

Akaya adores her walks and loves to explore and sniff. She doesn’t appear to have been walked much prior to coming into care, so she can pull in excitement. This is being controlled by a halti. She loves saying hello to people whilst out and about, and will often sneak up for a kiss to unsuspecting strangers. She is slowly learning that she needs to ask before she does this.

She is dog friendly and would be okay living with another male dog, or on her own providing she continues her dog socialisation.

Whilst Akaya is currently in care with cats, she doesn’t quite understand what they are. Any cats in her new home would need slow introduction, and be confident, understanding that she may give chase in excitement.

Akaya is slowly learning toilet training, but a lot has to do with marking and excitement. You would need to remember to take her out regularly and stay with her whilst she does her business, as she doesn’t want to miss out on any of the fun with you.
