Are you an experienced dog owner looking for a sweet and sensitive dog to add to your family? Lolly might be the perfect addition to your home! This timid yet charming girl is eagerly awaiting her forever family.
About Me: Lolly is as sweet as her name suggests. She’s the type of dog that when you see her you just want to say “awwww” & give her cuddles. As she was a stray we do not know much about her background, history or even breed.
What we do know about her since she has been in our care is that she’ll require an owner who has had dogs before, or has experience with nervous dogs. Someone who is willing to help her become her best positive self & boost that confidence.
Lolly is a gem, waiting for the right person or family to give her the love and care she deserves.
Ideal Home: Lolly will thrive in a calm and quiet household, so if you enjoy the serenity of home life, she's the ideal match for you. Lolly would love to have free access to both indoors and outdoors to get the best of both worlds.
A small to medium yard with high secure fencing would be her little slice of paradise.
Family: She is open to meeting children aged 5 years and up, making her a wonderful option for families.
If you work from home or have a part-time schedule, she'll be the perfect fit, as she thrives on human interaction due to her timidity.
Furry Friends: We are unsure about her compatibility with cats and pocket pets. Her dog to dog assessment is also pending.
Work Hard: Lolly is a smart girl who knows her basic commands like sit, lay down, and shake. However, she would benefit from ongoing post-adoption training, either at home or with a professional, to boost her confidence.
We always recommend post-adoption training whether it be at home or with a professional. Training doesn’t have to be a chore – it can be a fun experience for you both, it doesn’t have to take long & is a great way for you to bond with your new pal.
Play Hard: While Lolly may not be too interested in toys, she adores cuddles and pats. She'll be your snuggle buddy, always ready to offer comfort and affection. She is a dream to walk with no pulling at all.
Lolly's energy needs are moderate, so daily 30-minute walk or playtime in the yard will keep her content.
Post-Adoption Life:With all animals it’s important to understand that going into a new environment with new people may not be as seamless as we want it to be. It’s important to know that these animals have unknown histories - most are left in the shelter by their owners. The information we have is from observing the animal’s behaviours & reactions to certain stimuli whilst in our care. Adopted animals can take up to 3 months to properly decompress from post-shelter life & a lot of behaviours & quirks may surface during this time. All that we ask is that their new owners have an open mind & are patient.
Adoption details
Please remember that the pets we have available sometimes come to us with no history, so we do our very best to get to know them while they are here and to match them to your home. Sometimes animals behave differently outside of the shelter environment, so please do keep in touch after adoption so that we can help you settle your new family member in and address any unexpected behaviours.
