Leo is a stunning 6-year-old long stock coat German Shepherd, he was found as a stray, but no-one ever came forward to claim him. After spending some time in GSRV foster care, Leo has put on weight and is feeling his best, he is now ready to find his forever home.
Leo is a big, friendly teddy bear, this gorgeous boy just loves everyone he meets and and will jump up to give kisses to his friends. Leo is very sweet and enjoys saying hello to everyone out on walks, he is a social butterfly and will sit on your feet demanding pats.
Whilst staying at the pound, Leo lost quite a bit of weight and was very hungry, he now likes to snatch when taking treats and has been working on taking them gently, he still needs some practise with this. Leo would be best suited to a home where everyone is over the age of 5 years old and dog savvy, little fingers may accidentally get chomped in the excitement for a treat!
Leo is a chilled-out boy that is just happy to be out of the pound, he can often be found sunbaking in the grass snoring his head off, or snoozing on the bed, he is a no fuss dog that is just happy to hang out. Leo is the perfect Netflix buddy; he loves sleeping with his human on the bed and is a great companion for someone wanting a calm dog that is happy to follow them around and hang out.
Leo is very food motivated and will sell his soul for some roast chicken; he is a clever boy that knows his basic commands, he is always ready to learn more when treats are involved, he just wants to please his humans. Leo pulls hard on lead at the beginning of a walk, he settles down and is more manageable by the end but needs some training to walk nicely.
Leo has shown to be social when meeting other dogs, he will pull hard to them to say hello, however after a sniff and hello, he is happy to carry on his merry way. Leo could be suited to living with a large-breed chilled out female dog, he is also very happy as your one and only.
Leo hasn’t been tested with cats or other small pets.
This gorgeous boy is just a dream, we can’t believe no-one ever came forward to claim him, it is truly their loss! Leo would fit most family dynamics and is a ready-made best friend waiting for his new human to take him home!

Adoption details
We offer a 'Foster to Adopt' program. This means that the dog will go to live with their adoptive family for 4 weeks to ensure it is the perfect match for both the dog and new family. After the 4 weeks is complete, if all has gone well, the adoption is formalised and your new doggy companion is officially yours!
If you are interested in adopting from us, we ask that you fill out the Adoption Application form on our website (via the link provided below) with as much detail as possible, including the name of the dog you are interested in.
We do not rehome female dogs to a home where there is an existing female dog. Whilst there are always exceptions, it is generally unwise to have two females together; two males can sort it out, a male and a female can sort it out, but when two females fight, the results can be disastrous. For this reason, following the advice from numerous Veterinary behaviourists, as well as our own experience from the last eight years, we do not rehome females into homes with other female dogs.
All of our dogs are de-sexed, vaccinated, microchipped, flea and worm treated
Puppies (2 months to 4 months) - $1000
Puppies (4 to 6 months) - $800
Adolescents (6 months to 1 year) - $700
Mature (1 year to 6 years) - $600
Senior (7 years plus) - $350
