About Sam
💙 Sam has come a long way....this once terrified boy is slow but surely coming out of his shell. We are looking for a loving and committed family to help Sam continue his confidence building journey 💙
HOUSEHOLD- Sam is still very much a big bouncy pup. He has lived a sheltered life and desperately needs an understanding family to open up his world. He can be a little reluctant to meet new people but once he has checked you out and given you a tick off approval, Sam is super loving and affectionate.
At this stage he is not suitable for a home with young children or the elderly. His
exuberant personally may unintentionally knock them over.
ON-GOING TRAINING- Sam has not received much training from his previous owners. He requires on going training for basic commands and manners.
ON LEAD- We are in the process of working on Sam's lead manners which are not great. We believe with a walking routine in place and the correct direction from an experienced dog owner, then everything should quickly fall into place.
PLAY/TOYS- Sam loves to keep himself entertained play with his toys !!!
OTHER DOGS- Sam previously lived with a male sibling, Sam is very eager to interact and play with canine friends. He does play rough, therefore any new buddy would need to be tolerant of this.
CATS/OTHER ANIMALS- We have walked Sam through our cattery and he dropped to the ground, then bolted from the area. At this time we will need to do further testing to best gauge his suitability.
CARE/GROOMING- Sam has a medium length coat that will require a light brush 1-2 times per week. He is a little unsure of further handling and grooming becoming fidgety or wiggle trying to avoid the whole thing. He will require time to build confidence with further handling and may even benefit from co-operative care training into the future.
EXERCISE- Sam does have lots of energy which is why he requires a home with an active lifestyle. Sam needs to be kept simulated, socialised and exercised regularly. This is to ensure the best adoption outcome for this precious boy.
NUTRITION- Sam is the least fussiest dog when it comes to food. He will eat ANYTHING!
BREED - 1 year old, Mastiff Cross.
Sam is located at our Erina Shelter and his $500 adoption fee covers: desexing, lifetime registration, microchipping, current vaccination, flea & worming treatments.
If you tick all of Sam's boxes and you can provide him with the training and guidance that he requires, please lodge your adoption interest.
