About Spook
💙 Handsome Spook 💙
HOUSEHOLD- Spook is a very people orientated dog and doesn’t like being left alone for long periods of time.
We are looking for a home with someone who is home more often that not and who has another dog to keep Spook company. If you are a tradie and want a best mate to keep you company at work all day Spook would also be the perfect boy for you.
Spooks new home must have solid 6 foot or higher fencing.
ON-GOING TRAINING- Spook is a very smart dog. He knows how to sit and can catch treats mid air. He is incredibly patient when waiting for a treat and very gentle taking the treat from you. In the shelter environment Spook doesn’t get fed in a bowl. He thinks it’s awesome to push his empty food bowl around in his kennel making plenty of noise. This is something Spook has always done and will probably continue to do so in his new home.
ON LEAD- Spook is a solid dog and has incredibly muscular legs. He can pull on the lead when excited, especially if he sees another dog and wants to say hello. Spook does relax once he gets going on a walk but still needs a physically strong owner to walk him. Spook would do best being walked on a harness and a lead.
PLAY/TOYS- Spook shows no interest in toys, he only wants attention from the people around him. In a calm environment one on one, Spook is very mellow and will literally sit between your legs ready to get pats and back scratches.
Spook loves a game with you!! He likes when you tip toe up to him, while you are looking at him and he at you, and then you pounce at him and he literally starts going zoomies around the room and getting very over excited. So cute!!!
OTHER DOGS- Spook LOVES other dogs! LOVES THEM! You will have absolutely no issues with Spook around any dog other then he loves to play so much he might annoy some dogs or be too boisterous for smaller breed dogs.
CATS/OTHER ANIMALS- Spook does not like cats. If you are a cat person and think in the future you might want a cat Spook isn’t the dog for you. This situation happened in Spooks last home and he was literally given up because his family wanted a cat and Spook wasn’t a fan. We do not want to see this happen to him again.
CARE/GROOMING- Spook doesn’t require much grooming. However being mostly white he will need sunscreen on him in summer and will need to be monitored more closely than other dogs for any skin cancers.
EXERCISE- Spook does have lots of energy which is another reason why we want him in a home with another dog so he can play all day long. Spook would love other outdoor adventures where he can play with other dogs.
NUTRITION- Spook is the least fussiest dog when it comes to food. He will eat ANYTHING!
Spook is underweight from being in the kennel environment and pacing and jumping around in his kennel and does need to gain a few kilos. This wont take long in his new home.
BREED - 3 year old, Staffy x best dog ever.
Spook is located at our Erina Shelter and his $450 adoption fee covers: desexing, lifetime registration, microchipping, current vaccination, flea & worming treatments.
If you tick all of Spooks boxes and can offer him his forever home (with no cats) then please lodge an adoption interest.
