About Taro
Taro is a sweet, energetic, delightful Staffy X, she is very petite for a staffy and will likely only grow to be a small-med dog. Her gorgeous brindle coat is silky soft and when she looks at you with those gorgeous eyes, you will simply melt!
Taro is a really gentle girl, she is currently in foster with two children, cats and dogs so is getting use to a busy family home. She is starting to learn how to walk on leash and crate training and is doing well at both. Her new family will need to be committed to ongoing training so she continues to grow into a confident, well rounded, social dog.
She would love a home with another dog, although would be okay as the one and only provided she wasn't left alone for long periods of time.
MY IDEAL HOME: Taro would love a home with another dog or dog friendly cats. She would also love people home more often than not. Taro is still a young puppy and needs work on toilet training (about 50/50 success rate at present), walking on lease and training in general so a home willing to commit this time would be essential. Taro sleeps all night in her open crate but otherwise hasn’t been left alone so crate training is limited to overnight at this stage.
MY ENERGY LEVEL: Taro would play all day given the opportunity but when she's not zooming about, she's out cold! Taro will need daily exercise and enrichment ongoing, we have a feeling she will not be a couch potato.
MY SUITABILITY TO CHILDREN: She loves all people and has been very friendly and gentle to children and adults alike.
MY SUITABILITY TO CATS AND DOGS: Taro loves other animals, particularly dogs but is also intrigued by cats and doesn't chase. She loves cuddling up in bed with our resident dogs. She would love a younger playful dog as her foster dog siblings are older and not so keen to play with her. This hasn’t stopped her trying!

Our foster carer will contact you when we receive your application to arrange a time for you to meet with their foster pet.
We want your adoption through Maggie's to be a good experience so we will occasionally suggest a different cat or dog that may suit your situation better and the needs of the individual pet.
All our pets leave for their new homes on a two-week trial. At the end of the trial, we will transfer the microchip into your name and provide you with the pets vet certificates. Once you receive the Certificate of Identification from council, your adoption will be complete.
Please consider, that a Maggie's Pet is a pet for Life, before adopting.
This pet has been adopted and found love with its new family.
