About Ivy

Sweet little Ivy is 5.5 years old and has found herself alone and, in the pound, due to no fault of her own. Ivy is stressing in the shelter environment and has started to lose her appetite and therefore weight, we need to get her out and into her forever home as soon as possible.
Ivy is a sweet love bug; she adores everyone she meets and loves to have a cuddle and lean in for a pat and chest scratch. Ivy is a gentle girl with a calm nature and has shown to be very sensible in the shelter even when stressed. Ivy could possibly be suited to living with dog savvy children, they would need to be respectful that she needs time to settle in and de-compress and give her the space to do so.
Ivy walks well on a lead and knows her basic commands, she thrives on praise and being told she is a good girl, she also likes treats and is easy to handle and engage around distractions. Ivy seems to be toilet trained in the shelter and has not been destructive at all.
Ivy gets along well with other dogs, she can be a little unsure at first around them but soon warms up, she seems to prefer the company of calm dogs over boisterous ones but also is partial to a play bow when she feels comfortable. Ivy could live with a male dog in her new home, she would also be fine as the only dog. Ivy has not been tested with cats or other small pets.
Ivy would love nothing more than to be welcomed inside and to be part of the family, she is so people oriented and just wants company. Ivy would make the perfect couch buddy and would love a big fluffy bed of her own, this cuddle bug is ready to give all her love to her forever family.

Adoption details
We offer a 'Foster to Adopt' program. This means that the dog will go to live with their adoptive family for 4 weeks to ensure it is the perfect match for both the dog and new family. After the 4 weeks is complete, if all has gone well, the adoption is formalised and your new doggy companion is officially yours!
If you are interested in adopting from us, we ask that you fill out the Adoption Application form on our website (via the link provided below) with as much detail as possible, including the name of the dog you are interested in.
We do not rehome female dogs to a home where there is an existing female dog. Whilst there are always exceptions, it is generally unwise to have two females together; two males can sort it out, a male and a female can sort it out, but when two females fight, the results can be disastrous. For this reason, following the advice from numerous Veterinary behaviourists, as well as our own experience from the last eight years, we do not rehome females into homes with other female dogs.
All of our dogs are de-sexed, vaccinated, microchipped, flea and worm treated

Puppies (4 to 6 months) - $800
Adolescents (6 months to 1 year) - $700
