Oscar & Luna-4yo & 2yo Mini Dachshunds (Trial)

Oscar and Luna are a sweet and gentle miniature Dachshund bonded pair, who would make the perfect instant family for their lucky adopters.

4 year old Oscar is a distinguished gentleman with his dapple coat. He’s a sweet and quiet guy who loves a lap, a snuggle and is keen for a treat or two. He is slow to warm to new people, but when he gets to know you, he’ll keep your lap warm for hours. Like most miniature Dachshunds Oscar likes his own kind best, he’s happy being near other dogs but likes other Dachshunds best. He would prefer a quiet home where he can be treated like the prince that he is.

2 year old Luna has a chocolate and tan coat. She’s the sassy one who knows what she likes, and she’ll let you know what she wants, which is usually to climb up your leg for a hug. When she gets to know you, she’ll be thrilled when you come home and will meet you at the door tail wagging.

This bonded pair have always been together and are best friends, it would be best for them to go to their new home together to give each other the love and support they are used to. Oscar and Luna could be left alone for a few hours as long as they have each other. They will need to have access to indoors all the time and would really love to sleep in bed with their people. They rarely bark, and are pretty low maintenance. They enjoy spending their days sunbaking or snuggled up in bed. They also love a daily walk.

They can be both be wary of strangers and especially men until they get to know them. Oscar and Luna will need a kind, calm and loving home where they are given time and space to settle in, experience with miniature Dachshunds would be beneficial. They are best suited to children over 10 who understand the delicate nature of Dachshunds. Not tested with cats or pocket pets.

Oscar and Luna are toilet trained and use a doggy door.

They are currently in foster care with four other small dogs. A meet and greet with other dogs in their new home is necessary.

Oscar & Luna are in foster care in New Lambton, Newcastle area, NSW. Adoption fee is $1200 for the bonded pair. Both are vaccinated, desexed and treated for fleas and worms.
