About Amma
Introducing Amma, this lucky lady has been out in foster care whilst waiting for her new forever home. She will need to go to an adults only household where she is the only pet at home.
Amma's future family will be very lucky as her foster parents would adopt her in an instant if they weren't planning on moving overseas. Amma is very calm and quiet and prefers to spend her day sleeping on the couch, but still enjoys going out for a walk with some training involved. Ideally she would have a short and a long walk a day. She can enjoy more activity, but anything more than two walks a day in the neighborhood is up to her future family. She is very polite and well-mannered (as long as you don't leave food on the counter; she is one tall girl!). Clearly, Amma is very food driven, but this combined with her intelligence and good manners makes her very easy to train.
Amma follows basic commands very well and loves to please her owners. While Amma generally loves all people, she has her one person that she is especially bonded to and forms a special relationship. Because she is so tall, she can be a bit clumsy but it only makes her more lovable and endearing.
Amma is building her confidence outside of the home when on walks as she is shy and nervous around small dogs that bark at her and doesn't like loud noises. She was found as a stray so her foster home has found that she likes to get to know the local neighborhood slowly before expanding her horizons. She is making major progress but needs a home that can build her confidence slowly. That means no busy dog parks or beaches for now.
Amma is such a kind and gentle girl. She displays absolutely no food aggression and tolerates being handled very well (although she is not a fan of baths). She is great in the car and loves having a bit of a sniff-ari expedition.
Amma does seem to get hay fever like the rest of us in the springtime. It leads to her having dry, itchy skin so she will need some treatment/maintenance during the pollen season. We can't say enough good things about Amma. Everyone who meets her says she is the best, well behaved girl, and we couldn't agree more.
