About Matilda
Meet the sweet little Matilda
Hi everyone, meet Tilly, the sweetest and cutest girl youre sure to see today! Tilly is (we think) a staffy x Boxer weighing just 22 kilos which is very apparent in her boxer stance but sweet cuddly staffy personality. Her chip does say Rotty x staffy but as you can see a definite boxer mix in there ! She has a little stumpy tail that you can’t help but love when you see her wiggling it, which is often because she’s a very happy girl! Only 10 months old, Tilly is a gentle soul with a cheeky puppy personality that loves to be around Humans and Dogs alike. She’s an absolute sweetheart and wins everyone over as soon as they meet her!

Favorite things:
Tilly’s favorite things include spending time with her people, you’ll never have to look far for her because she always wants to be around you, whether it's cuddles on the couch or just hanging out in the same room eating her cow hooves! She loves walks in the park, meeting other dogs, learning new tricks, tearing apart her stuffed toys and most importantly FOOD.
Interaction with humans:
Tilly is such a people lover! She loves to meet new people and has no problem with strangers. She does get a bit excited sometimes and might jump up on people but is generally a pretty well mannered girl. At home she is super affectionate and will happily act as your shadow, following you around the house. She doesn’t have any issues with loud noises or food being taken away and has never acted aggressively towards her foster parents. She hasn’t been tested around children.
Obedience and training:
Tilly is a very clever girl and is eager to learn! She has no problem with “Sit”, since moving in she has almost perfected “lie down” and stopping by the roadside at every crossing. She is very food motivated and will have no problem picking up new skills. On walks she is generally pretty well behaved but loves other dogs and will pull in an attempt to say hello. She is slowly learning to ignore this but more training is required here. Around the house she’ll get up to a few cheeky things if left to her own devices, she's a total opportunist and will sneak whatever she can get her paws on , but is always quick to drop when asked. She is great in the car and loves to go on trips to new places.
Animal social skills:
Tilly LOVES other dogs however she hasn’t quite learned all of the social ques the other dogs give her. She is quite dominant when meeting other dogs but is not aggressive, she just wants to play! She would be best suited around other high energy young dogs who can take her rough and tumble style.
Food:
Tilly will do just about anything for food. She is a very fast eater and has been using a slow feeder bowl since moving in with her foster parents. Her favorite treats include bones, pigs ears and a beloved cow hoof. She currently eats a big scoop of dry food in the morning and at night.
Independence:
Tilly initially seemed to be having an issue with being left alone however she has gotten a bit more used to it since living with her foster parents. She will wait patiently on them to arrive home but loves playing with her Kong toys and chewing a bone or hoof while they’re out. She still isn’t the biggest fan of being alone for long periods and will occasionally entertain herself by ripping the stuffing out of her bed. She would be best suited to a family that is around occasionally throughout the day.
Bathing, hygiene, sleep, toilet training:
She is quite happy sleeping in her crate at night time with the door open but will often try to sneak into the bed for a cuddle if you’ll let her. She is fully toilet trained and has only had one accident since living with her foster parents. She isn’t the biggest fan of a bath but will sit through it patiently til it’s over, even the hair dryer didn’t faze her too much! Tilly definitely benefits from being brushed weekly and will happily sit through it given there’s treats involved of course!
Exercise:
Tilly is currently being walked twice a day for around 30 minutes each and loves a longer walk at weekends. She’s a pretty strong girl and has the tendency to pull on the lead if not wearing a halti. She loves to spend time sniffing on her walks and would spend all day watching people when out and about if you’d let her!
Home in a perfect world:
The perfect home for Tilly would be one in which her family are home more often than not to spend lots of time with her and give her all the love and attention she deserves! She might benefit from a family with a more submissive Male dog that can keep her company throughout the day. A family who is active and can take her on daily walks, spend a good amount of time with her everyday making sure she gets all affection she craves.
Adoption Criteria
A home with a medium to large backyard with grass, shelter, and secure fencing.
A home with or without children, they must be dog savvy children who can handle puppy behavior. We seek kind and gentle mature children
A home with or without another dog.If another dog is in residence already we seek a Male of medium to large size who is well socialized and will be ok with her being the boss dog lol
A daily walk. Short walks while she is a puppy and her bones are developing. A moderate-long walk when is older and has more energy to burn.
A lot of love and training! Matilda should be welcomed as part of the family and not just left on her own in the backyard all the time. Her owner should dedicate time to training and take hr to puppy classes
