About Squid
Squid is a young, energetic and cuddly boy!
He was formally used for backyard breeding and then when no longer of use, left at the vet.. thankfully a kind hearted vet nurse stepped in and now Squid is living his best life in foster care! Squid loves nothing more than cuddles with his foster parents and relaxing with his foster brothers and sisters, a crew of Greyhounds!
Squid is housetrained, good when left alone, is respectful of his greyhound friends and just generally a really good boy. He is working on not barking at the door and noises coming from his neighbors but a quick word and he'll remember his manners. Squid walks reasonably well on leash and after some initial excitement, gets into the rhythm and settles down.
He is easy to train and even easier on the eyes! Squid is a bit of a legend and we can't wait to find this deserving boy his humans!
MY IDEAL HOME: My ideal home is with people that enjoy big dog cuddles, I love my humans and whilst I'd prefer them around always, I'm okay being left alone. I could be rehomed with another chill med/large sized dog or as the one and only. I'd much prefer a yard where I can stretch my legs and someone who can keep working on a few little training things, as I do sometimes like to bork at the neighbours.
MY ENERGY LEVEL: Living with greyhounds their energy has rubbed off on me, so I'm pretty good at chilling. That being said I still do need a good daily walk and play sesh to keep me happy.
MY SUITABILITY TO CHILDREN: I haven't had much exposure to children but I think I would be okay with kids 10 and up.
MY SUITABILITY TO DOGS AND CATS: I am currently living with 4 friendly greyhounds of which I get along well with. I have not been around many small dogs or cats.

Our foster carer will contact you when we receive your application to arrange a time for you to meet with their foster pet.
We want your adoption through Maggie's to be a good experience so we will occasionally suggest a different cat or dog that may suit your situation better and the needs of the individual pet.
All our pets leave for their new homes on a two-week trial. At the end of the trial, we will transfer the microchip into your name and provide you with the pets vet certificates. Once you receive the Certificate of Identification from council, your adoption will be complete.
Please consider, that a Maggie's Pet is a pet for Life, before adopting.
