About Rhett
Hello, it's nice to meet you, my names Mets. I'm on the hunt for my furever home.
I am an older gentlemen, so I'd prefer to go to a home that's more on the quiet/calm side. Although I'm very friendly it can take me a moment to warm up and feel fully comfortable around new people. I'd like a home that understands this, and is willing to take it a bit slow with me. Too much excitement in the household could be overwhelming for an old boy like me. I'd really just like to cuddle up next to you by the fire, all cosy and warm.
I'd prefer to go to a home with no young children, over 12 will be just fine. I'd like a family that are old enough to understand not to over handle me as it can make me uncomfortable. I still love pats, don't get me wrong, but young children can be a bit too excitable you know? I need a slow and gentle approach.
At the shelter, the staff have noticed I'm interested in birds.... maybe a bit too much. For this reason it's best I go to a home with no pocket pets, juuuuust in case.
During my stay at shelter, I've shown I can be around other dogs and not be too bothered. I haven't shown a lot of interest in other dogs, I might be a bit too old to be interested in playing and rough housing. That being said, if you have another dog that is relatively calm and low energy like me. So if you do already have a doggo friend at home, please bring them down to meet me too! That way we can make sure we all get along well.
I'm a very sweet boy looking for a loving home to take me in. If I sound like your kind of dog, please come down to the shelter and meet me!
