About Roxy
Please meet ROXY, a very sweet-natured and fun-loving 6 yo Frug (Frenchie x Pug) looking for her forever home.
Roxy came into care early this year with a known history of heartworm infection that, if left untreated, would shorten her life.
She underwent five months of veterinary treatment during which time her activity level had to be reduced to almost nil. As a result, she put on a few pounds and still has a few to lose but, thankfully, she's now tested negative to heartworm. Please read the medical notes for more detailed information.
Roxy is a very affectionate girl and loves to have cuddles on the lounge any time of the day. Although she lacks confidence and may seem a little shy at first, she quickly warms up with gentle attention. Roxy takes a little longer to warm up to men, but warm up she certainly does. She would be fine with older children.
She's a very companionable little dog and would do best in a home where someone is around most of the time and there is another dog for her to play with. She l-o-v-e-s having a playmate and is happy to show her exuberant side in the backyard.
Roxy knows her basic commands and walks quite nicely on a harness and lead. She is house-trained and uses a doggy door at her foster home.
She would make a delightful companion for an active individual or family with older children.

Medical notes
Roxy presented to Condamine Vet Clinic, 185 Bracker Road, Warwick in March 2023 with a known history of Heartworm infection. Roxy's treatment commenced on March 11, 2023 and was conducted under American Heartworm Society guidelines. On 11 July 2023, both Antigen test and Microfilaria test were negative and Roxy was booked in for desexing. She will continue to be on Heartgard monthly as a preventative measure and will require a follow up Antigen test in 9 months (i.e. April, 2024) to confirm her heartworm-free status.
