About Lochie
Snoozy 7-year-old boy Lochie is an experienced house hound looking for a forever home where he can have daily walks, quality nap time, a few zoomies, some toy tossing fun and his favourite treat - bananas!
Lochie is definitely not shy when it comes to meeting new people. He's quick to befriend visitors, excitedly sniffing them while swishing his tail. He also loves car rides and as soon as he hears the jingle of car keys, he bounces happily and dashes to the garage.
Lochie absolutely loves 'let's start the day pats' followed by a 20- minute morning walk then breakfast. When he sees his walking collar he celebrates with victory laps around the room.
Lochie's a very curious boy who sniffs every millimetre of on walks, making sure he doesn't miss any wee-mails.
After his walk, Lochie enjoys neck scritches before he'll plop back down on his bed to rest. As well as happy tail swishing, Lochie's other signature move is his 'crazy roach'. Just before or after a walk, he rolls onto his back, kicks his legs around and shakes his head in a frenzied dance which lasts about 10 seconds. Then he flops forward like it never happened.
As an only dog, Lochie happily sleeps away the days while his humans are out at work, entertaining himself with some toy tossing in the yard if the mood takes him.
He enjoys chasing tennis balls and will start sprinting around the yard doing zoomies. Lochie is scared of storms and wary of fireworks, alarms and the vacuum cleaner. The one time he isn't keen on a walk is when it's raining or wet from overnight rain.
Lochie is looking for a forever home with an experienced dog owners and no children. He has a preference for males.
While he lives happily as an only dog, Lochie does like meeting other greyhounds and could potentially live with an easy-going greyhound for company. Lochie is reactive to non-greyhounds on walks and has had some training with positive reinforcement, distraction and avoiding stressful situations. He needs people able to continue his training which IWaG will provide through Fellowship of the Paws - Dog training. Lochie is not small dog or cat friendly.
