About Puco
Puco is a seven year old German Shepherd who found his way to a Sydney Shelter and was incorrectly assessed. We have him in our care and he is now receiving training. He is a big softy and has learnt to be with other dogs, and is currently living with Foxie.
Puco is an absolute beautiful boy that has a second chance at life. He is good with Foxie and tolerates the young dog, and he is great when young children come up to stroke him.
Puco is receiving training, structure, enrichment activities, crate training, out door run training, obedience training, impulse control training, socialisation and is an inside and outside dog. He has built close bonds with the dogs and humans around him and gets time alone where he is able able to keep himself entertained.
Puco can be a little fearful when he experiences something new, but with encouragement and appropriately timed rewards his fear subsides and his curiosity takes over. He needs a thunder jacket in stormy weather.
We are looking for a committed owner who will ensure Puco becomes an integral member of the family. Previous experience with this breed or large breed dogs is a must.
Puco cannot be around cats.
If you think you can give him a new home please contact us by selecting "Enquire about Puco".
If you live in Queensland or Victoria, you can be considered, however you will need to be able to drive with your family and any dogs to meet Puco. If for any reason he doesn't fit your family you will be responsible for bringing him back to Sydney or helping us to rehome from your home.
Medical notes
Puco is microchipped, vaccinated and desexed
Adoption details
We have an Adoptions Manager who screens all prospective candidates as to their suitability to adopt a German Shepherd Dog.
We try to contact every one by phone but if that isn't successful we will email our application form to you, which needs to be completed and returned, or you can call us back and we can chat and complete for you. We will also ask you to provide photos of your yard and fencing to enable us to see where the dog will be kept and that they have areas of shade and shelter.
All our dogs are ready to go to their new home, so when you enquire about a dog you must be in a position to take them into your home. We are unable to hold a dog while you fix your fences or go on holiday, etc.
The successful candidate who adopts one of our dogs is provided with an information kit, ongoing support, training and advice on all aspects of feeding, training and general assistance to ensure both the new owner and our rescued dog settle into their home.
