Meet Miss Marlie!
Marlie is a sweet-natured bundle of love and energy, and is very eager to please her humans. She possibly spent her early days on a property or somewhere she had space to run and jump – her zoomies are pretty amazing and she loves jumping in the back of utes. She can even parkour off trees!
She would suit a household with older kids (10+), just because at full speed and 25kg she could be a bit much for little children. However, she is very sweet and gentle when calm, and responds well to training with treats.
Although she is active, she definitely knows how to lounge around and is very content lying in the sun or close to her humans. She seems to get along very well with other dogs and would probably love to be in a household with a similar sized active dog. She loves company in general.
Other things to know:
* Housetrained – no accidents and is even courteous enough to toilet in a particular spot in the yard.
* Would ideally need access to inside the house as well as outside – she’s a cuddle bunny so expect morning visits.
* Very trainable – within a few days she was responding to sit and stay commands fairly consistently. Still needs some training with lead walking and recall but she is a quick learner.
* Loves food.
* Smart enough to be able to steal milk from the bench using the handle and spill less than a teenager trying to do the same thing.
* Pig ears or anything chewy are her favourite treats.
* 6 foot fences will be important to keep her safe.
* Loves stuffies/squeaky toys/ balls – and tug-o-war games.
* Barks/growls only when necessary – stranger at door etc – she’s protective without being aggressive.
* Seems to really love men.
* Hasn't met any cats yet.
* Happy around other dogs.
* Not a fan of possums.
