All the things people have said within 5 minutes of meeting Ivan! It’s crazy this gorgeous guy hasn’t found his forever home already. Maybe it’s because his photos look so serious but I promise you, Ivan really is the bestest boy and full of loving personality. He gives the best cuddles and really just wants to be loved!

During his time in care, Ivan’s learnt so many commands. He is an expert sitter, knows how to drop, rollover, beg, wait nicely for his food, go to his bed and responds well to his name. He’s met lots of kids and thinks they are awesome - kids give the best cuddles! Ivan can be a little bit jumpy when he gets excited though so bigger kids are probably better, but dog savvy small kids are good too.

Want to know the best part about Ivan? This little guy is crate trained and will happily sleep in his crate while you’re out and about (particularly if you give him a chew treat - bully sticks are his favourite)!

Ivan LOVES other dogs, big and small (except for little white fluffy things - are they even dogs?) In fact, he’d probably do best with a doggy friend at home with him during the day if you need to go to work. That said, if you’re home enough, he’d also happily be an only dog. Ivan has learnt to play nicely with lots of different friends, from Great Danes to Dachshunds, but sometimes the kelpie in him will come through and he tries to round them up. Rihanna said it best - he has has to work work work work work!

Ivan has been left inside with his foster sister a fair few times and has never chewed up anything like couches, toys, shoes, pillows or dog beds. He’s also very happy in the yard and although he has a decent jump, Ivan has never tried to escape from his foster home. Like most dogs, Ivan loves a car ride and will happily sit in the boot (even when you’re not planning on going anywhere).

He may be part kelpie, but Ivan is really not that hard to tire out. He does require ongoing leash training around the suburbs (particularly when he sees potential doggie friends) but a long leash walk around the park has proven to be Ivan’s favourite pastime!
