Cushla is an absolute angel!
She is the sweetest most gentle girl with a gentle soul who wants nothing else but to please you and to keep an eye on you making sure you are OK. She is a well-mannered smart girl who is so full of love and happiness.
Cushla loves to snuggle on the couch next to you and watch tv together. If you are not home for a few hours, no worries, as she will quickly find her favourite spot on the couch and make herself comfortable till you get back home.
She loves to sleep in her bed while her foster mum works from home, enjoys supervising (from a distance) all the cooking in the kitchen and watching the birds and butterflies in the garden on a warm sunny day. She is a happy camper and an easy-going girl.
Cushla is calm, friendly, affectionate, good with routine, playful, well natured, and receptive to your vibe.
She hardly barks at home except for when she is very happy and excited to have her foster mum back home. However, after a reassuring pat and kisses she calms down right away. It is just an excited bark and with some training and building her confidence further, this behaviour should settle.
Although quite large compared to her foster sisters, she is very gentle and lives extremely well with them. She doesn’t mind sharing her bed and her space with her foster sisters.
She is also good at being home alone with her foster sisters and has been tested for a few hours without any issues. However, ongoing training in her forever home will be beneficial.
She has shown no signs of food aggression or resource guarding and trusts her people. However, some supervision at dinner time will be helpful if you are feeding multiple dogs at the same time.
Cushla would love to go to a home with a similar sized or smaller sized dog as she enjoys the company. Her energy levels are moderate, so she would be happy with a medium sized backyard with regular visits to the beach, walks, hiking trails and all other adventures you could possibly think of. She travels very well in the car.
Cushla walks well on lead however, she will benefit from continued lead training with someone who handles her with strength and confidence as she is very intuitive.
She sleeps through the night and is toilet trained. Some training to use the doggy door will really help her to have a good mix of indoor and outdoor time.
Don’t let her age fool you! She is a healthy, happy girl, hence is best suited for a home where she is included in activities, adventures, and every day life as much as possible.
Teenagers or upper primary dog-savvy kids will be good for Cushla. Not tested with young children although she should be fine with them after sufficient training and supervision.
