On Hold
About Maggie - 1.5 Year Old Border Collie (Hold 15/9/23)
Hi, I’m Maggie! I am an 18 month old female Border Collie and I am looking for a family for my forever home. My foster parents tell me I am a very sweet and pretty girl with a great smile, but I think that is an understatement!
Like a classic Collie, I have lots of energy and enjoy playing with toys or going on walks. I also like to wrestle with my foster brothers! I am a very smart girl and extremely quick learner! Every day I get better at learning the ropes as I am very eager to please.
Humans are my absolute favourite!! I love to be around them all the time and I especially love belly rubs. Whenever I see a human I can jump a little, but I am very gentle. I just get so excited. Oh, and I also love food. Treats are awesome and I know how to take them super carefully like a good girl.
Some more about me:
⁃ I will need secure 6ft fencing to make sure I am safe, and a nice big yard to play in
⁃ I can be a little bit timid at first, but once you gain my trust you will have a companion for life
⁃ I am super super smart and would benefit from ongoing training. You could teach me anything!!
⁃ I could be an only dog if my humans are around more often than not. I can sometimes get a little protective of my toys. Otherwise, I would be okay with a doggy friend to keep me company if I met them first
⁃ I’ll do best with someone who is experienced with a working dog breed. I can be hyper active and need someone to keep my mind sharp.
I currently spend my days in the yard with my brothers, and happily sleep in a crate at night. I need to be welcomed inside as I like to be where the humans are.
In summary:
✅loves to snuggle
✅can be an only dog with my humans home more often than not, or with doggy friends
✅high energy needs
✅high fences and a big backyard
✅need your commitment to continued training
