The Congo Rainforest is known for being the lungs and beating heart of Africa and as his namesake goes our beautiful Congo’s looks will have your heart beating out of your chest and his puppy smells filling your lungs with that sweet puppy breath.
Congo is a deep Dark Chocolate and white marked little hunk who can be a tad reserved around new people when he first meets them but if they have another doggo ……. Congo immediately gets a huge burst of confidence and becomes the king of play and fun, instantly turning on his puppy charm to try and ensure his new furry friend wants to be his BFF forever.
With a breed mix of Kelpie and Border Collie in him not only is he incredibly handsome, but eager to learn too
Not surprising based on his breed mix he is a super smart boy and will bloom in a home that is prepared to invest the time and training into ensuring he can become the best dog he can be.

Favorite things
Congo loves cuddles, playing outside, playing with the kids, exploring and playing with his fur sibling
He loves toys and interacting with both humans and other dogs in his foster home.
Congo loves plenty of naps too and the sunny spots are his favorite.
Interaction with humans-
Congo is in foster caste with 2 adults and 2 children and adores them all
As we sais Congo can start off a little shy around new people and might sit back and observe and asses the situation for a few minutes before coming over for the big hello but once he knows you , immediately you are placed on his favorite things list and he cherishes you forever lol
Congo adores other dogs
We have not tested him with cats but definitely young enough to learn.
Independence – Congo is more than happy being outside with his fur sibling and keeps himself entertained very easily.He also loves exploring the garden
Sleeping – Congo has been sleeping inside in a crate with his sister. He sleeps through the night and goes out to play as soon as he wakes in the morning.
Exercise - Congo has been a very active dog during his time in foster care. ( yup he's an active breed puppy)He would thrive in an active household where he is walked daily and included in day to day activities.
As Congo matures he will require daily exercise and a good run and walk as he is mixed with 2 high energy dogs who need enrichment and to keep their brains active throughout their entire lives.
Congo is seeking a home where he is included in the day to day activities of his adoptive family. He would love to be homed with a female dog who is kind and happy to play with him. He will happily fit into a home with children who are kind and gentle and mature enough to manage puppy teething etc.

IDEAL HOME: / ADOPTION CRITERIA -PLEASE READ BEFORE APPLYING
Congo will be a higher energy dog and will require lots of stimulation and exercise as he matures
A home with a good size medium to large backyard with grass, shelter, and secure fencing. We request you do not apply if you are in a unit or terrace with a small yard as this will just lead to disappointment as we will not adopt this breed into that situation.
A home with or without children, they must be dog savvy children who can handle puppy behavior.Children must also be mature enough to understand that puppies must be allowed to have “ down time” and plenty of sleep and not be disturbed.
A home with or without another dog.If another dog is in residence already we seek a Female of medium to large size who is well socialized and tolerant of puppy behavior.
A daily walk. Short walks while he is a puppy and his bones are developing. A -long walk when he is older and has more energy to burn.
A lot of love and training is essential as this beautiful boy has huge potential to be amazing in the right hands.
Congo should be welcomed as part of the family and not just left on his own in the backyard all the time. His new family should dedicate time to training and take him to puppy classes.
He is young enough to learn if you have a dog savvy cat
We recommend children in the home to have prior dog / puppy exposure before your family applies for a young pup as teething is a thing that will cause inexperienced young children to become upset when the puppy chews their toys and or the children.
