About Chase
Lets Welcome Chase 💙
Beautiful Chase arrived when he was only 11 months old. We were shocked to discover we were now his fourth owner in that time.
Can you imagine how Chase has felt? No stability ever in his life, doesn’t know if he is coming or going.
While in our care we have seen no behavioral issues from Chase. He is a gorgeous boy and Chase has been a pleasure to be with and care for.
HOUSEHOLD- Chase is comfortable with everyone he meets. He doesn’t push himself onto you for attention, he is happy just standing or sitting next to you. We are looking for a home that is essentially going to teach Chase what life is. Teach him what toys are, what traveling in the car is, that other dogs are our friends, all the things he has missed out on from being moved around so much.
ON-GOING TRAINING- Chase knows how to sit and shake when asked but doesn’t come when he is called, so does need some work on his recall. Chase is more focused on you when you have treats him.
ON LEAD- Chase is great on the lead. He is very easy to walk and doesn’t pull. The only issue is he often stops when he is out walking and refuses to move. He can be quiet stubborn.
Chase hasn’t always been like this and we are sure once he is out of the pound environment this behaviour will stop.
PLAY/TOYS- Chase has shown no interest in any toys but he does enjoy walking through puddles.
OTHER DOGS- It’s clear that Chase hasn’t been exposed to many social situations before and is often unsure how to act around dogs. Chase doesn’t mind walking past another dog and happy to give them no attention.
If a dog does get too close to Chase he does give them a little grumble. Chase has shown no outward aggression to any dog he has met but he isn’t always comfortable. It does appear to us that Chase is more relaxed around female dogs.
We recommend Chase be the only dog in his home so his new family can put their attention and focus on him and his needs.
CATS/OTHER ANIMALS- When Chase saw a cat he seemed scared and had no interest in interacting with it.
CARE/GROOMING- Chase has a thick coat and will require regular brushing. He is going to be a seasonal shedder.
EXERCISE- Chase is pretty laid back for having cattle dog in him. We are hoping that once. Chase is adopted he will enjoy going on walks again. Being a young boy he does need a daily walk.
NUTRITION- Chase can be a little fussy with his treats, some he loves but some he won’t touch.
He isn’t on a specific diet currently. Chase has no problems with you touching his food or him while he is eating.
BREED - Cattle x Shiba Inu
Chase is located at our Erina Shelter and his $300 adoption fee covers: desexing, lifetime registration, microchipping, current vaccination, flea & worming treatments.
If you tick all of Chases boxes and can offer him his forever home then please lodge your adoption interest.
