About Coco STA011008
Coco is a sweet girl who recently came to us as a scared stray with her kittens. In order to give her and her babies the best chance at success, she was placed in a foster home where she could raise her kittens until they were ready for adoption. Now that all of her kittens have found homes, Coco is ready to find her own!
At first, Coco can be very shy and nervous in new environments. Because of this, it would be best if she could find a quiet home that is willing to show her lots of patience as she adjusts.
From her foster home -
Coco is the sweetest girl and a funny character. She'll do best if you start her off in a small room while she builds her confidence. She loves to play with her toys and perks up in the evenings when it's ready for playtime. Coco needs all four paws on the ground. She loves pats and scratches, but does not enjoy being picked up at all. Coco is a bit too timid for younger children, but will suit a household with older teenagers. She's happy to entertain herself during the day- but she needs regular company to build her confidence.
Adoption details
Simply note the ID number and the cats name and visit our hostel at 200 Elder Street in Greensborough. Alternatively you can call the hostel on 8457 6500. We are currently open Mon-Fri 10am-4pm / Sat-Sun 10am-3pm.
You should bring proof of your current address and preferably photo identification such as your driving license. You can only adopt a cat for yourself we do not allow animals to leave with third parties. If you are wishing to adopt a cat as a present for someone, bring them with you as cats are individuals and bond with different people in different ways, the cat you may choose, may not choose your friend! It is also important to allocate time for adoption and we recommend you allow at least a couple of hours to get to know the cat and do the necessary paperwork.
When you visit you will get to meet the cat and as this is a very important decision for both you and the cat you choose we will want to ensure the two of you are compatible and that you understand what will be involved in taking the cat into your home.
We will want to be satisfied that you are prepared to be a responsible pet owner. Responsible pet owners at the most basic level, have their pets registered, micro-chipped and de-sexed unless they are registered breeders. They also understand the issues involved in being able to properly care and take responsibility for the welfare of their pets. Most Councils in Victoria have limits on the numbers of cats you may own without a permit. It is important to check with your Council if you already own the limit and obtain a permit for the extra cat before adoption. We will require to see your permit.
We will answer any questions you have regarding cat care and help you to obtain any support you may need.
