About Bonnie
******************APPLY AT www.gsrv.com.au ******************************
Our gorgeous Bonnie is 2 years old and is a long stock coat German Shepherd. 2 months ago, Bonnie was in the pound facing euthanasia unless we could urgently save her, Bonnie has been in GSRV foster care since then and has absolutely thrived, she is now ready to find her forever home and to put the past behind her.
We are pretty sure Bonnie was a model in her past life, she is absolutely stunning and turns heads whenever she is out walking, always having people stop her for a pat. Bonnie adores meeting new people and is very smoochy with everyone she meets, leaning in for cuddles and even giving sweet little kisses too. Bonnie would suit most family dynamics and may be suited to living with children over 5 that have experience with large breed dogs.
Bonnie is an active girl who loves going on adventures with her humans, she has been learning to walk nicely on lead (still practising) and loves a ride in the car too! Playing with toys, especially enrichment puzzles like kongs and licky-mats are Bonnie’s favourite. Bonnie will need ongoing physical and mental stimulation in her new home, she is very clever and will thrive playing games, challenges and learning new commands and tricks.
Bonnie is very food motivated, she also thrives on being told what a good girl she is, her face lights up every time she is praised, she wants to please her humans any way she can. Bonnie has been working on her basic manners and leash skills however this will need to continue in her new home, she loves training and engaging with her handler, this girl has so much potential.
Bonnie has fought with other female dogs in her previous home and has a history of being a little jealous of other dogs when they get close to her humans, Bonnie wants to be the centre of your universe and the only dog in your world. Bonnie is not suited to a home with other animals including cats, livestock, or other small pets.
Bonnie can be reactive when she sees other dogs out on a walk, she is making great progress with this and is easy to move on, she has even managed to make a dog friend with slow introductions. Bonnie’s new owners must be committed to slow exposure and socialisation to set Bonnie up for success, she is a work in progress and will need ongoing training and support.
Bonnie is as loyal as they come, she is such a people person who just adores her humans. Bonnie is a typical ‘German Shadow’ wanting to be involved in everything you are doing right by your side. Bonnie can get a little worried when her humans leave the house and would be best suited to a family where someone is home most of the time or where she can go with you to work. Bonnie’s new home must have secure, tall fencing for when she is left alone.
Bonnie loves to snuggle and is a complete bed hog, she is cuddly and will give you good night and good morning kisses, name a better way to start and finish your day? Bonnie has had a rough start and needs stability, routine and lots of love and affection, we know in the right hands, she will be the most amazing best friend for someone.

Adoption details
We offer a 'Foster to Adopt' program. This means that the dog will go to live with their adoptive family for 4 weeks to ensure it is the perfect match for both the dog and new family. After the 4 weeks is complete, if all has gone well, the adoption is formalised and your new doggy companion is officially yours!
If you are interested in adopting from us, we ask that you fill out the Adoption Application form on our website (via the link provided below) with as much detail as possible, including the name of the dog you are interested in.
We do not rehome female dogs to a home where there is an existing female dog. Whilst there are always exceptions, it is generally unwise to have two females together; two males can sort it out, a male and a female can sort it out, but when two females fight, the results can be disastrous. For this reason, following the advice from numerous Veterinary behaviourists, as well as our own experience from the last eight years, we do not rehome females into homes with other female dogs.
All of our dogs are de-sexed, vaccinated, microchipped, flea and worm treated
Puppies (2 months to 4 months) - $1000
Puppies (4 to 6 months) - $800
Adolescents (6 months to 1 year) - $700
