Nelson is a sweet, shy young man looking for a patient owner to help build his confidence and who will understand he will likely need support moving into his forever home. Nelson came into care at a regional shelter as a stray so we don't know his history, but he may have missed out on important early socialisation and is a bit fearful of the big wide world. He can become easily overwhelmed in new environments and when meeting new people.
The behaviour team are committed to continued support for Nelson as he settles into his new home which will include post adoption check ins.
He is best suited to an adult home or one with calm older children. He will
likely benefit from having another dog, who is well established in the home, to help his confidence grow while he settles in. Nelson will not cope with dog parks or off lead areas.
