NOTE: You are unable to meet Doug until/unless you have been notified that you are a successful applicant. An adoption cannot be approved unless you are able to come to the shelter to meet Doug in person and bring any dogs you currently have with you.

What I need in my new home:
• Daily walks, trips to the park or beach, playtime in the backyard
• Further training with basic doggie manners
• To be allowed inside with my family
• A doggie playmate would be great, if not then lots of socialising with other dogs
• A cat may be ok with a slow introduction.
• I like both friendly male and female dogs
• Secure Fencing (6ft Colorbond or equivalent)
• Lots of toys and mental stimulation
• A diet of good quality dry food to help keep my teeth clean
• A family who promises to keep me well-groomed and brush me regularly so I’m always looking and feeling my best.
• Lots of love and attention
• Short regular walks, trips to the park or beach, playtime in the backyard
• I can be shy at first, so I need a family who’ll allow me to grow in confidence in my own time.
• I am a clever, young and active doggo - I would be great for dog training, trick training, agility etc once I am not so scared of the world.
• I appeared scared of cats when meeting them at the shelter however once my confidence around them grows I might be more inquisitive. If going to a home with a cat they must be dog savvy, and we must be introduced slowly.
• SOCIALISATION is as important for me as it appears I've led a very sheltered life and can be a bit nervous/shy in new situations. Since being at the shelter I'm becoming much braver though. Taking me to lots of different places, meeting lots of people (children, men, woman etc) and meeting lots of dogs and other animals will help boost my confidence.

Things that I don’t want in my new home:
• To be left alone in the backyard without any interaction
• Not to be allowed inside with my family
• Never to go on a walk or rides in the car
• Children may scare me, a family that is willing to help me overcome this and understand that they may scare me at times may be suitable.

My best features:
• Wiggle butt.
• Highly food motivated.
• Gentle & placid.
• I love attention and having snuggles with my humans.
• Happy to hang out with other friendly dogs.
• I am clever and eager to learn so would love a family who will teach me some cool tricks.
• I love attention, hugs, kisses & head scratches.
• Well mannered.
• Love to snooze on the couch.
• I walk well on lead for a young doggo but having daily walks should help me improve my lead skills.

Where I need to improve / Training required
• I will require full basic training as I've had no training experience yet
• I'm learning to walk on the lead at the shelter and am getting much better. I'm still a bit slow and fearful but with lots of practice I should soon look forward to a daily stroll around the neighbourhood
• I am shy at first with new people and in new environments so will require a family who will take their time allowing me to settle in and continue with my socialization.
• I need further training on my recall as I can ignore you if you're trying to call me back to you.
• I may show signs of anxiety when I'm left alone in the backyard. Leaving me some enrichment toys/treats may help this.
• I can sometimes initially be shy and try to avoid things going over my head (lead etc). It doesn't take long for me warm up and my excitable & full of life nature to come out.
• I am scared of thunder & fireworks and will scare & not settle. I will require a safe space to retreat to during these events as well as comfort and reassurance from my family.
• I do walk quite well on the lead once settled, however I can pull if something interests me and can be quite skittish if startled so walking in a harness is recommended.
